YEAR: 1987

"Are ye nervous Heather?" Stella asked while placing the birdcage veil in Heather's hair.
"A little,"
"Where's Polly?" Mary asked.
"I think mum's gettin her dressed.
"I can't believe she's already 6 years old," Stella said. "So Mary, how are you and yer boyfriend doin?"
"Very well actually,"
"What's his name?"
"Alistair,"
"Do ye think ye two will get married?" Stella asked while starting on Heather's make up.
"I don't know, it's only been like 2 years,"
"I think you guys will last,"
"Thanks B,"
Beatrice gave her a smile.
"I should start gettin ready," Beatrice laughed.
As Beatrice picked up her dress and walked into the next room, someone knocked on the front door.
"I got it," Mary said. She walked down the stairs and opened the front door. "LUCY!" Mary hopped into her arms adn gave her a hug. "It's been ages! My goodness!"
"I know, where are yer sisters?"
"Upstairs in the master bedroom getting Heather ready,"
"Does anoyone need help with anythin? I can do hair,"
"Um, yeah, Beatrice, Stella, and I all need our hair done,"
"What about yer mother and Heather?"
"Stella did their hair. Well c'mon,"
Mary lead Lucy uptairs to the master bedroom. As they walked by all the bedrooms, Beatrice saw Lucy and became confused. She ran into Heather's old room where I was getting Polly ready.
"Mum,"
"Yeah B?" I responded while styling Polly's hair.
"Some woman just walked into yer room with Mary,"
"What'd she look like?" I asked while spraying the last bit of hairspray into Polly's hair.
"Um, I don't know. Kinda tall, long brown hair, big red heels,"
"Lucy!" I stood up from behind Polly and rushed out of the room. "Watch your niece," I called to Beatrice. I walked into the master bedroom to find Lucy Starkey. "Lucy?"
"Michelle!" she walked over to me and gave me a hug. "Where's Paul?"
"With the lads," I thought to myself, "Is Ringo gonna show up?" Lucy nodded. "Fuck," I chuckled, "It'll be the first time they'll be in the same room since they broke up,"
"Yeah, I didn't think one through," Lucy chuckled.
"So why are ye here?" I chuckled.
"I wasn't gonna miss my goddaughters wedding," Lucy gave Heather a warm smile. "Ye look beautiful darlin,"
"Thank ye Lucy,"
"Where is everyone else?"
"What do ye mean?"
"Where's Jude, Mimi, Cynthia?"
"Cynthia moved back to Spain," Heather whispered.
"Why?"
"Cause of Polly,"
"Who's Polly?"
"Let me go get Beatrice," I said as I walked out of the room.
"Who's Beatrice!" Lucy became confused.
Everyone smiled and laughed at Lucy as I walked out of the room.
"C'mere Polly," I said while taking her hand and guiding her to my room.
"What about me?" Beatrice asked.
"Come with me!" I chuckled.
We walked back into my bedroom about a minute later; Lucy was still really confused.
"Who are they?"
"This is my youngest daughter Beatrice," I pointed to her, "and this is my granddaughter Polly,"
"Gr-Granddaughter?" Lucy stuttered.
"Yep,"
"Mich, yer 44,"
"I am,"
"And Paul is 45,"
"Mhmm,"
"How old is she?" Lucy whispered.
"She just turned 6,"
"If Lee had a had a kid this young, or if one of my sons got a girl pregnant, I don't even know how I'd react,"
"Well if Jude didn't have her affair with George, I wouldn't be so understanding,"
"Yeah that was bad," Lucy huffed.
"She doesn't even know how much she could have ruined his career,"
"Well, I better get started on the hair,"

It took Lucy about an hour to finish everyone's hair. When she was done we had another hour before we had to head over to the church. The girls stayed up in the master bedroom while Lucy and I caught up in the kitchen.

"So how have ye been Michelle?"
"Fine, busy with kids," I let out a chuckle. "But, I do have this strange lump near my breast," I shrugged. "It's probably nothin though,"
"Wait...ye have a what?"
"Nothin, I don't even know why I brought it up," Lucy set down her beer and began feeling around for the lump. "What the fuck are ye doin?"
"Mich, ye need to go to a doctor and get this checked out,"
"I know, I'll make an appointment soon,"
"No, yer gonna make an appointment for tomorrow! For all ye know ye could be dyin!"
"I'm sure I'm fine," I glared at the clock in the kitchen. "When is Paul gonna get here?"

About 15 minutes later, Paul showed up with the car. Each boy drove a different car so we all wouldn't be crammed into one limo.

When we arrived at the church, there were reporters everywhere and a few crazed fans still clinging to the idea that the Beatles will get back together.

"Are ye ready Heather?" Paul asked.
"Yeah, I am,"
"Okay," he whispered, "let's go,"

Everyone raced out of the cars and into the church. We had to protect Heather and Polly from the fans because they were angry for some strange reason. As we got closer to the entrance, the fans got even more angry. One of the fans got a hold of Heather and ripped one of her dress sleeves.

"WHAT WAS THAT FOR!" Heather yelled.
"YE DON'T DESERVE JULIAN!" a few of them yelled.
It didn't take Heather long to realize that it was the girls that harrassed her on Julian's graduation day.
"C'mon Heather," we all said, pushing her towards the church entrance.
"They ripped my dress!" Heather cried.
"I can fix it," Stella said. She began digging through her purse for a pack of needles and some tread. "C'mere," Stella pulled Heather into the bathroom to fix her sleeve. Since the sleeve was lace it was easier to hide the tear. "There ye go...I did my best,"
"Thank ye so much Stella!" Heather gave her a hug and walked out of the bathroom.
"Are ye alright Heather?" Paul nervously asked.
"Yeah," she smiled, "is everythin ready?"
"Mhmm," Paul held out his arm, "let's get ye married,"
Heather gladly linked arms with her father and waited until everyone was in formation to walk down the aisle.

Beatrice was in front, being the flower girl. Behind her was James, being the ring berer. The behind James was Paul; he was linking arms with Heather and Polly was holding Heather's hand as everyone walked down the aisle.

At the end of the aisle was a crying Julian and the bridesmaids; the bridesmaids were: Jude, Mary, Stella, and she threw Lucy in there at the last minute; I was the maid of honor.

The groomsmen were John, Paul, George, Sean, and Ringo was thrown in at the last minute; Dhani was the best man.

When everyone arrived at the end of the aisle, Beatrice and James sat down in the pews, Paul handed Heather off to Julian and I took Polly's hand during the ceremony.

The two said their vows and within minutes, they were married. We went to the reception right after the ceremony. On the way out, a reporter pulled Paul aside and began asking him questions.

"How does it feel to be the grandfather of a 6 year old?"
Paul gave the reporter a small smirk.
Paul had a sarcastic tone in his voice, "Its awful, worst thing in the world, I hate it-"
"No ye don't!" Polly protested.
"I do! I really do! I hate it!"
The two shared a laugh and continued walking to the cars.

The reception lasted for about 4 hours before everyone decided to go home.

Once everyone excpet, the McCartney's, Lennon's, Harrison's, and Starkey's, left, John, Paul, George, and Ringo decided to put aside their differences and grab a few instuments. Each guy sang one Beatle song as a wedding gift for Heather and Julian. It was an unforgettable night.

The next morning I had to go to my doctor appointment around 7 in the morning.

"Where are ye goin love?" Paul tiredly asked.
"I have to go to a doctor appointment,"
"For what?" Paul yawned.
"Promise me ye won't freak out, because it's probably nothin,"
"What?" Paul sat up in bed.
"I found a small lump on my side. I think it's nothin, but Lucy insisted on getting checked out,"
"Oh..." Paul began fiddling with his hands.
"I'll be back in about an hour,"
"Alirght love, best of luck to ye,"
"Thanks,"

"Alright Mrs. McCartney, we have recieved yer test results,"
"Well tell me," I chuckled.
"I'd rather not,"
"Why not!" I continued laughing.
"Because, ye nearly fainted when I told ye, ye were pregnant with yer first kid-"
"WAIT I'M PREGNANT!"
"What? No,"
"Then tell me my results!"
"But-"
"Tell me!"

After my appointment I went to a payphone and called Paul. He told me he was going to the recording studio so I called there.

"Hello,"
"Paul...I got my results,"
"How were they?"
"They weren't good," I began crying.
"Why? What's wrong?"
"I got cancer."
