YEAR: 1964
It was July 3, the boys film get released into theaters tomorrow, but we were getting to see an advanced screening today. Paul and I were in our room, getting ready, 2 hours before we had to be at the theater.
"Michelle, don't forget to look nice!"
"I always look nice when I go out in public! Shut yer mouth!"
"Stop bein rude!"
"Ye know what, I'm gonna be rude 'cause I can't fit into me halter dresses anymore!"
"Well what to ye expect, yer 4 months pregnant!"
"Don't remind me." I sat on the bed, still in my pajamas. "I'm sorry Paul."
"Its alright love," he came over and kissed my forehead, "yer scared, I understand."
"I just don't want anythin bad to happen."
"I know ye don't, just remember, don't get stressed, and yer not comin on tour with us."
"But Paul, I wanna come with ye!"
"I'm not lettin ye, what if ye get," he cleared his throat, "hurt again? I could never forgive myself."
"What if I just stay in the hotel?"
"Yer still gonna be rushing to cars and such!"
"What if we take separate cars?"
"Who would take care of ye?"
"Eppy will walk with me."
"FINE! Ye can come with us on tour."
"Plus," I got off the bed and walked to the closet, "Lucy told me that she's gettin married when ye go to Paris, and I don't want to miss it."
"She's havin a winter weddin..."
"Yeah? So?"
"Yer due early December!"
"I still don't see yer point," I said while pulling a black lace maxi dress out of the closet.
Paul let out an annoyed groan and fell back onto the bed.
"Yer so difficult!"
"But ye love me." I let out a chuckle as Paul sat up on the bed and grabbed my hands and kissed them.
"I do."
I flashed Paul a smile and continued getting ready. When I finished styling my hair and doing my make up, I walked into Heathers room and woke her up.
"Heather darlin, wake up." She sat up in her crib and rubbed her eyes.
"Mummy?"
"Yes mummy's here, c'mon, were goin to a party."
"Daddy?"
"Daddy will be there, don't worry."
"YAY!"
"Now, let's get ye dressed."
I dressed Heather in a beautiful purple dress with white shoes and a purple flower crown.
"My god Michelle," Paul took her from my hands, "its a film premier. Why is she wearin a flower crown," Paul giggled as he removed the flowers from Heathers head. "C'mon, grab yer jacket, I already started the car. We don't wanna be late."
"I'm comin Princess, clam down."
He smiled and accepted the fact that I'm never going to stop calling him princess. I took Heather from Paul and walked to the car and put her in her seat then we drove to the theater.
"Took ye long enough! C'mon!"
Cynthia grabbed my arm and yanked me into the theater, I almost dropped Heather. When we walked in there were seats reserved for us with the rest if the cast. I shook everyone's hand and took my seat next to Paul. Paul took Heather and placed her on his lap.
The film started; it kicked off with the single guitar strum, then the song A Hard Days Night began playing. Poor George fell and was trampled by Ringo. The film continued, I laughed several times, Heather seemed to enjoy the music. After about an hour and ten minutes, the film ended.
"Boys, that was wonderful!" Pattie sounded pleased.
"It really was," I added. Heather began kicking my stomach and sides as I was holding her. "Alright, alright," I set her down on the ground, "I love her, but she can be such a bitch."
"She's 1, what do ye expect." Cynthia was tired and crabby, Julian was fine.
"Alright, time to get ye home, Michelle, Pattie, Lucy, I hope ye all enjoyed the film. We'll see ye soon," John said while taking Julian from Cynthia. "Say goodbye Jules." Julian just sat there with a blank expression on his face. "By girls."
"Bye John," we all spoke in unison.
A few months passed and it was the morning the boys were leaving for their American tour. I woke up to a singing Paul in the kitchen and a happy Heather. I quietly walked down the stairs stood in the hallway, listening to Paul and the record player.
"All my loving, I will send to you. All my loving, darling I'll be true. Close yer eyes-"
"Morning." He looked over to me.
"All my loving," he sang while walking over to me, he gave me a light kiss on the forehead.
"I will send to you." He grabbed my hands and we began dancing to the record. "I love ye so much."
"I love ye too." He gave me a quick kiss and turned back to the stove.
"What are ye makin?"
"Pancakes. Are ye all packed?"
"Mhmm," I mumbled while he was handing me breakfast.
"Good, we leave for the airport in an hour." We ate breakfast listening to the rest of the With the Beatles record.
After breakfast we headed upstairs to get ready. Paul got in a suit then got Heather dressed. I met them in the car about ten minutes later.
"Ready love?"
"Mhmm."
"Quiet this morning, what's up?" He said while pulling out of the driveway.
"Nothin, just tired," I looked out the car window."
"Well, Brian got ye a separate car so ye don't have to rush, and he agreed to walk with ye."
"Thank ye."
"No problem love." He grabbed my hand and we continued the car ride in silence. "We're here. Ready?" I nodded. He got out of the car and opened my door.
"Thank ye," I smiled and opened Heathers door. "C'mon darlin, we're goin back to America."
We went into the airport, people immediately surrounded us, the were shouting and tackling Paul.
"PAUL!"
"I LOVE YE PAUL!"
"MARRY ME PAUL!"
I'm pretty sure one girl pulled out some of Paul's hair.
"C'mon Mich." Paul grabbed my arm and pulled me onto the plane. "I love the fans, but, y'know,"
"They can be annoyin."
"Very." He pulled me close and gave me a kiss.
"Ew!" I rolled my eyes and put Heather down. "Thank mummy."
I buckled Heather into her seat and handed her, her purple blanket and her octopus.
"Ello."
"Hey George, no Pattie?"
"No, she wanted to stay home."
"She moved in with ye!"
"Yeah, last week."
"Yer movin a little fast, don't ye think?"
"Ugh, ye sound like Mimi," Cynthia muttered as she slugged onto the plane.
"Hello Cynthia."
"Shut up."
"Julian kept her up all night, let 'er be." I gave John a small nod and sat down in my seat.
"Paul,"
"Yes love?"
"I can't buckle my seat belt! I'm too big!"
"How'd ye do it last time?"
"I dunno! Help!"
"Alright love, calm down," he leaned over and clipped my seat belt. "There ye are love."
"Thank ye." He leaned over and gave me a soft kiss.
"Try and get some sleep love."
"I'll do my best Paulie."
"Paulie!" John broke into laugher.
"Shut yer trap, Johnny." He immediately stopped laughing and sat down in his seat.
"Twat," he whispered.
The plane took off not long after everyone got on the plane. Ringo and Lucy were leaning on each other as they slept, Paul and I just lightly held hands. I woke up in the middle of the flight to use the restroom. When I got up, I saw John, sitting in the back of the plane.
"What are ye doin back here?" I whispered.
"Cyn and I have been fightin lately, I just needed some time away from her. Y'know?"
"No, I'm sorry, I don't. Paul and I rarely fight and when we do, we immediately make up."
"I guess we all can't have a perfect marriage like yers."
"Guess ye can't," I let out a laugh and sat down next to John. "John,"
"Yeah,"
"What if Cynthia isn't, the one."
"What do ye mean?"
"What if yer soul mate is still out there, waiting to be found."
"But that's the thing," he looked to me, near tears and a shakey voice, "I think I already found her."
