YEAR: 1960
PAUL'S POV
"TODAY WAS A SUCCESS BOYS!"
John bought the band and the girls a round of drinks. The band and the girls were in the tavern after a performance. We had been in Hamburg for a month and a half, Paul's 45 was finally finished and he was ready to send it to Michelle.
Then this man started walking toward us, he had to be about 20, his hair was done up like ours, he didn't look like a nice person, looked pretty scary, then he walked up to John.
"Hello, are ye The Silver Beatles?"
"Yeah? Why do ye care?"
"My name is Richard, and I'd like to be in ye band?" John pulled Richard backstage so they could talk and so he could audition.
"So, Richard is it? What do ye play?"
"Drums."
"Are ye any good?"
"I think I am."
"Play me something, what do ye know? I'll try to sing it and play along with ye on the guitar."
"Maggie May?"
"Fine."
John began singing and Richard began playing, John was amazed by how good he was.
"Ye got the look, even though yer a little terrifyin, ye got the look, yer a good drummer, can ye sing?"
"I'm rather shy, so I'd rather not sing, I mean I'll sing, just not a lot."
"Alright, ye know what, yer in. Just lemme ditch the drummer we have now."
"Alright, thank ye so much! I'm sorry I didn't catch yer name."
"Its John. And welcome to the band."
John walked back into the tavern and pulled Pete backstage, Richard had game back out the the tavern to meet up with his friends.
"What's up John?"
"Pete listen, ye know I like ye, but I'm afraid that ye can't be in the band anymore."
"Why not!"
"Yer never at rehearsal! And yer not as good as the guy that just auditioned!"
"Fine!"
"Get yer stuff out of George's House and go back home."
"Gladly."
Pete rushed back out and headed to his apartment. John stepped back into the tavern again, he found Paul talking to Richard, but he couldn't find George. He began looking through the crowd trying to find him. Eventually he did. George was making out with a random girl that he had met at the bar.
"GEORGE!" George stopped kissing the girl and looked to John.
"What?" It was now clear to John that George was drunk.
"What are ye doin?"
"Makin out with a beautiful girl? What are you doin?"
"YER WITH JUDE!"
"John ye need to lighten up! Have another drink!"
"No!"
"John, if ye don't drink, I'm leavin the band!"
John rolled his eyes and drank another beer. Then another, then another. Eventually John was as wasted as George.
"George ye have been with Jude for what? Three years?"
"Four!"
"Four! And ye two still haven't done anything!" John took another shot. "I'm gonna get ye laid! Be right back!" John rushed into the crowd of people, trying to find a girl for George. He eventually found one. "Hey! My friend George is looking for a girl to fuck! Are ye interested?"
"Its gonna cost you."
"How much?"
"How much you have?"
"19 pounds."
"Fine, where is the drunk bastard?"
John pointed to the bar. The lady began walking toward him and started flirting with him, eventually he brought her back home. John rushed over to me.
"Paul! George is about to become a man, let's go!"
"But I'm talkin to Richard!"
"I don't care!" John pulled me out of the booth and dragged him back home. They got there before George.
"John why are we doin this? Yer drunk! Ye need to stop!"
"No I don't!" John banged on Pete and Georges apartment door, Pete answered.
"What do ye want Lennon?"
"LET US IN, AND PRETEND THAT YER SLEEPIN!"
"What? Why?"
"LITTLE GEORGE IS BECOMIN A MAN TONIGHT!"
Pete was confused but let us in anyway. We all hid in the living room, pretending to be asleep, then George walked in with his new lady friend and well ad John put it, 'became a man'. As a joke, when he was done, we all applauded, how did we know he was done? Well, John made us watch, at least George was under the covers for a good portion of it. After that John and I went home.
