YEAR: 1958

I stood in the doorway, staring at John. He was a lot cuter when he wasn't talking. He woke up to see me watching him.

"Ye scared me."
"Sorry, I didn't mean too."
"Mimi know yer in here?"
"She left a few minutes ago."
"Where she goin?"
"Yer uncles grave." He nodded. I walked over to his bed and sat down at the end of it, looking back at John.
"So how did Paul react to ye livin here?"
"I haven't told him yet." John sat up on his bed and glared at me.
"Why not? He needs to know!"
"Yer makin a big deal out of nothin John."
"Paul deresves to know! What if he's on his way to yer old house right now, waitin for ye to answer the door."
"I guess yer right."
"I know I am." We heard Judes bedroom door open. "MORNING ANGEL FACE!"
"FUCK OFF LENNON!" John and I laughed as Jude yelled going down the stairs.
"What's her problem?"
"Let her be, she doesn't take change well."
"Neither do you. How have ye already adapted?"
"I dunno, I guess I've just evolved." He pushed my back with his foot and we shared a laugh. "C'mon John, we should go get some breakfast."
"Yeah we should. I'll call Paul, he makes a mean omelette."
"What? No!"
"Why not? We already discussed this!"
"I want to tell him on my own terms." John rolled his eyes.
"Fine, do it yer way." He got up and went downstairs. I stayed on his bed a little while longer. "MICHELLE!"
"WHAT!"
"C'MON!"
I rolled my eyes, I noticed that I did that whenever John yelled. I walked down the old creaky stairs. To find that John had already set up places at the table for Jude and I. He set down 3 bowls and 3 spoons.
"We havin cereal?"
"Yeah, got a problem with that?" Jude had a mean tone in her voice. John brought over a box of corn flakes and a jar of milk.
"Who sat in yer corn flakes?" John thought he was witty and let out a faint laugh.
"No one yet." Jude wasn't in the mood for joking around. John poured us our bowls and we sat down to eat.
"So, when's the funereal?" The moment John mentioned the funereal Jude threw down her spoon and stopped eating.
"It already happened." I replied.
"And ye two didn't go?"
"No one did, just Father MacKenzie."
"That's really sad. Why didn't ye go?"
"She was a drunk who abused me, of course I wasn't going, Jude wanted to but I wouldn't let her."
"Why not?" John looked over to Jude.
"Mum abused her too. Jude was just more vulnerable than me."
"But I mean c'mon, yer own mums funereal."
"That means nothin."
"It means everything Michelle."
"Ye may not call Mimi mum, but she is."
"No, me mums in Blackpool."
"No, yer mum is in a graveyard, putting flowers at yer uncles head stone." John was silent for a bit. "John, yer mum is someone who loves you and raises ye, and that person in yer life, is Mimi."
"So what was yer mums name?" John was trying to change the subject.
"Subtle."
"C'mon, what was it?"
"Eleanor, Eleanor Rigby. She was a lonely person, nobody ever loved her."
"I LOVED HER!" Jude stood up from the table in anger. "I LOVED MUM AND I CANT BELIEVE YER SAYIN THESE THINGS ABOUT HER!"
"YE DIDNT LOVE HER! YE JUST THINK YE DID! SHE DIDNT LOVE YOU! AND YE KNOW IT!" Jude face went blank and so did Johns. They didn't know how to react. Tears came to Jude's eyes. She started crying and ran upstairs into her room. "Jude wait-" John grabbed my arm and stopped me from following her.
"I'm calling Paul."

"John! What's wrong? John open the door!" The door opened. "Michelle..."
"Hi."
"Wh-what are ye doin here?"
"That's why John called ye over." I looked into Paul's eyes and I could tell that he was nervous yet angry at the same time. I took Paul's hand and walked to the couch. I sat him down and sat next to him.
"What's goin on?"
"Paul, ye know how I had to move, to actually stay in Liverpool?"
"Yes, of course."
"John asked Mimi if Jude and I could live here."
"And?" The tone in his voice kept getting shakier.
"Mimi said yes," I took a deep breath, "and so did we."

Paul just looked me in the eyes, I hated it when he looked at me like this. His eyes became glassy and his head was slightly tilted to the right and his cheeks got all rosy. I knew when he gave me this look, he was upset, which made me upset. I don't want Paul to leave me. I love him with all my heart, and I'd probably be acting like Jude if Paul broke up with me.

"Michelle,"
"Yeah?"
"Do ye still love me?"
"Oh Paulie, of course I do!"
"Then why don't ye act like it?" The moment the words left his lips, my entire body froze.
"Paul-"
"Don't Michelle." He got up from the couch and left Mimi's house, slamming the door behind him. I started to cry.
"I love you." I whispered under my breath, John heard my whisper.
He stormed out of the house. I sat on the couch, crying my eyes out.
"MCCARTNEY!" Paul stopped in his tracks.
"WHAT DO YE WANT LENNON! YE ALREADY STOLE THE WOMAN I LOVE, WHAT ELSE DO YE WANT!"
"Paul I didn't steal her."
"I saw ye kiss her!"
"Do ye really think I stole her?"
"Yeah, I do."
"Come back to the house. Michelle is a wreck right now!"
"She is?" John nodded. Paul ran back to the house and burst through the door to find me crying on the couch.
"Paul? What do ye want?"

He walked towards me, bent down and kissed me. I didn't push him away, and I didn't pull away. He placed his hand on my cheek, and I did the same to him. Eventually Paul pulled away, he saw the tears in my eyes. He put his second hand on my cheek and wiped the tears away.

"I love you Paul." I flashed him a big smile. His hands were still on my cheeks, he leaned in and kissed my forehead.
"I love ye too."
