Chapter Thirteen: I'm Here Now

Lloyd's Point of View~
"Kai!!" I screamed. I tried shaking him and calling his name more but to no avail. Kai wasn't waking up. I got up and yelled up to Jay. "Jay! Are Nya and Zane here?! Kai's not waking up!" I shouted. He peered over the ledge and looked down. "What?! And they just got here!" He hollered. Thank God! I mentally cheered. Zane, Nya, Jay, and Cole slid down the ledge and crowded Kai. "What happened to him?" Zane asked, kneeling next to him. "He was still being possessed when the ground gave out under him. He fell and hit his head badly. It was bleeding, but I put my jacket under his head to try and stop the bleeding," I explained. Zane examined Kai and pulled out some bandages and a syringe. "He's still breathing and has a pulse, so he most likely fell unconscious from losing so much blood," Zane said. I sighed in relief. At least the Enchantress can't take control of his body if it's physically unable to move. I thought. 

Zane carefully wrapped Kai's head and other injuries with the bandages and grabbed the syringe. He grabbed some numbing ointment, a cotton swab, and a band-aid. He used the cotton swab and ointment to numb an area on Kai's neck and held the syringe close. As Zane was about to inject him with the serum, Kai's eyes opened widely and he started screaming. He jerked and thrashed around and his face turned into an angry scowl. "I refuse to let you have this body! If I die, then so will he!" He screamed. "The Enchantress is killing him from the inside!" Nya said in a panic. "Quick, Zane! Inject him!" Cole yelled. "Hold him down! He's moving too much for me to give him the shot!" Zane ordered. Jay, Cole, Nya, and I did as told and held down his arms, legs, and head. Zane took one hand and placed it firmly on Kai's torso.

Kai continued to jerk around and scream, trying to get away. His screams turned into moans, groans, and wails. They didn't sound human anymore, either. The noises that came out from him sounded demonic. "What are you waiting for, Zane?!" Jay yelled. "He's still moving around too much for me to give him the injection!" Zane said. Kai's nose started to bleed as he kept thrashing and yelling. 

Without thinking it through entirely, I moved places and used both hands to hold Kai's head and keep it still. Cole grabbed Kai's free arm while keeping ahold of his leg. "There! Now can you do it?!" I asked, worriedly. "Yes, this is better!" Zane replied. Kai's head shook vigorously as he screamed. "No!!" He screeched as Zane injected the needle and serum into his neck. And almost instantly, Kai stopped moving and yelling. With hesitation and caution, the others and I let go of him and waited for a reaction. "Kai? Are you okay, dude?" Jay questioned. There was no answer. I held my breath. Then suddenly, Kai shot up and turned over to his left and threw up a black-ish-colored substance. It looked like some sort of slime and reeked. 

Everyone gasped at the sight of it. "Gross! What is that mess?!" Cole exclaimed, covering his nose. "That must be what's left of the Enchantress," Nya noted. Zane nodded in agreement. Kai coughed and took deep breaths when he finished vomiting. He slowly lifted his head and looked at us. "Guys...?" He asked, his voice as soft as a whisper. "Kai!!" We all yelled and pulled him into a group hug. After breaking the hug, everyone began apologizing to Kai for what happened. Kai had also apologized to them as he did to me earlier. 

I helped Kai up and he winced as he got up. "Are you okay? Let's get you home. It's been one heck of a night for everyone, especially you," I said. "Nah, I'm fine. Besides, the concert's still going on, right? It'd be a shame if we missed the rest of it because of me," Kai said. I looked at him with worried eyes, but Kai just smiled and assured me, "I promise I'm okay, Lloyd. I just want to hang out with you and the others a little longer at the concert." I looked at the others. "Is... that okay with you guys?" I asked nervously. "Heck yeah! It's fine with me. I'm down." They all responded at once. I smiled and held Kai's hand. "All right, we'll go back. But you have to promise to tell me if you're feeling bad or anything, okay?" I said to Kai. He let out a chuckle and nodded and promised he'd let me know of anything. 

{Time Skip~}

Third Person's Point of View~
Once everyone had returned to the Arena, some of the people there had left or were leaving since the show was wrapping up after another song. Kai, once again, apologized for having everyone miss out. The others reassured him that he wasn't at fault and that they wouldn't have been mad if they had missed the rest of the concert. "Well, instead of sulking about it, let's go enjoy this last song my dad and the Royal Blacksmiths have in store for us!" Cole exclaimed. They went inside and back to where they originally were and made it just in time for the last performance of the night. 

"Ladies and gentlemen! It has been such an honor performing before you all tonight! I thank every one of you for coming out tonight! Now, our last song is for all the lovers and companions out there! For everyone has a ray of sunshine they don't want to be taken away from them!" Lou, the lead singer for the band, announced cheerfully. And with that, he began to sing as the other band members played. 

"The other night dear, as I lay sleeping, I dreamed I held you in my arms. But when I awoke, dear, I was mistaken, so I bowed my head and I cried. You are my sunshine, my only sunshine. You make me happy when skies are gray. You'll never know dear, how much I love you. Please don't take my sunshine away." 

As he sang, Lloyd, Kai, Jay, Nya, and many other couples joined together and swayed to the melody of the song. They even sang along to the Royal Blacksmiths. 

"I've always loved you and made you happy. And nothing else could come between. But now you've left me to love another. You have shattered all of my dreams. You are my sunshine, my only sunshine. You make me happy when skies are gray. You'll never know dear, how much I love you. Please don't take my sunshine away."

The Royal Blacksmiths finished and the crowd applauded and cheered. As the cheering died down and more people started leaving the Arena, Kai pulled Lloyd out to the side away from everyone. "Kai? What are you doing? Are you feeling oka-!" Lloyd began before being cut off by Kai kissing him. At first, Lloyd was caught off guard by the kiss but almost immediately melted into it, wrapping his arms around Kai, who responded hungrily by pulling Lloyd close. After a moment, Kai pulled away and looked at Lloyd. "You have no idea how long I've been wanting to do that, Lloyd," he said. Lloyd felt himself blush and smiled. "I missed this passionate side of you," he responded. Kai chuckled and hugged the blond. 

"Well, I'm here now and I'm never gonna go anywhere without you," he whispered into Lloyd's ear.
