-나는 그들의 것, 그들의 내 꺼야-

"the p-plague has started to spread in the v-village..." she stuttered out, bringing a hand to go through her hair and she wiped off the sweat on her forehead, she was panting like she couldn't breathe

🌷

her words shook something deep in me

the plague has gotten to the village? i thought we were safe...

i thought we could wait it out in the village...

"how do you know?" jeonghan stood abruptly got up from his seat, his chair falling to the floor

"there were people lying in the street... their fingertips were turning black and they were s-sick..." she said, still breathing heavily

"are you okay?" i asked her, "you didn't get too close, did you?" i continued

if she gets sick that means we all get sick; meaning we could die from the disease and our normal lives would come to an end

even if some of us survive by some miracle, things wouldn't be the same as before

out undisturbed, calm, lives would be over no matter the outcome

"no... i'm fine, i kept my distance from them" she answered, "w-where's me br-" she stopped talking when she saw dorian sitting down

"oh- hello sir" she bowed to him, flustered to be seen in such a state

"it's quite alright, just call me dorian" he said with a small smile on his face

-author's pov-

sofia looked around the room again, looking to see if there was anyone else there

she was flustered to be seen panting with her hair a mess, by a man that looked to be of high standing. it would have been rude of her to not greet him properly

she would have been punished by him if she ignored him or disrespected him in anyway and there would be nothing her brother could do about it

"chan oppa, where is my brother?" she asked as she stepped into the small house, she tucked the loose hair behind her ear, trying to fix her appearance in front of a strange man

"he's in the other room, you can go see him now if you want" he responded

"of course, if you'll excuse me" she bowed again and walked through a small door into another room

everyone else was left speechless at her previous words, the sickness has spread through their village, they could be in grave danger

it's not like they can travel to live somewhere else, people in other villages and towns are also sick with the illness and in places with higher populations it spreads quicker and there are more that are sick; they also can't travel because the lord of the land won't allow them to

they are stuck to live the rest of their short lives there, whether they had a choice or not

the village they lived in was small, it only had about two hundred people living there

everyone there knows each other and they knew everybody, whether it was on good terms or bad ones

most people in the village chose to keep their distance from them. they were seen as strange because they were foreigners and because they weren't born and raised in the village like them, but most of the time the people were still polite towards them
