-myungho's pov-

as soon as we found jun i called mingyu to try to find out where he was so that we could get out of china as soon as possible before they decided to attack again. but mingyu was nowhere to be found

"damn it mingyu pick up your damn phone" i slightly shouted at my phone, we need to find him, i was driving the car with jun and areum in the back, we were on our way to where mingyu was in a club but we couldn't get ahold of him

as soon as i pulled up at the bar i jumped out of the car, leaving behind areum and jun, i was pissed, we need to leave now! i walked past the bouncer and entered scanning the entire place for mingyu

he was surrounded by a few people, i recognized most of them but a few were unfamiliar, i walked towards him, he hadn't noticed my presence yet. he seemed drunk, i scowled at him, "mingyu" i said putting my hand on his shoulder from behind, he jumped a bit. "hey look who it is, myungho" he slurred swaying from side to side

i looked at the other people with him; it was jaehyun, jaebeom, eunwoo, and shownu, and a few other people i didn't know, "mingyu we need to go" i said anger laced in my voice, "why w-what's going on?" he said still slurring his words, i looked around at the other people, they were all doing their own thing. so i decided to drag mingyu out of there

"hey what are you doing!" he shouted fighting a bit, he was a bit sluggish so he didn't do much, i let go of him once we were in front of the car, i pushed him a little when i let him go, "i need you to sober up! someone's after us" i said the last part a little lower, his eyes went a little wide and he stood up straight

-mingyu's pov-

as soon as he said that i sobered up instantly, "what do you mean someone's after us?" whispered a bit, "have you not seen the news? there was just an explosion at jun's hotel while he was inside" he shouted a bit, and i was in complete shock, "is jun ok? where's areum?" i said grabbing his shoulders

he shrugged off my hands, "they're fine, they're in the car *points to the car*" i turned my head to the car seeing areum on jun's lap as she was sleeping and jun was hugging her tightly, i was honestly a bit jealous, but that's not what's important now

"who's after us? and what happened at the hotel" i said a bit of worry in my voice, but i still tried to look intimidating, "a guy walked into his room saying, 'this is for my boss's brother' and then dropped a box and then the explosion happened, and jun think's he knows who, but that's not the point. the point is you should have been there and we need to get out of china now" he said with a commanding voice

i looked down feeling guilty for not being there, "let's go then" i said getting in the car leaving myungho behind. i got into the passenger seat and looked at my feet, "why did you have to go out with them today of all days?" jun whispered from the back seat, with areum still in his arms

myungho was just standing outside glaring at the ground, he looked deep in thought, but he snapped out of it and got into the car with us and started driving with no hesitation

-jun's pov-

i looked down at areum as she began to stir in her sleep, she must be having a nightmare, i thought to myself, after that thought crossed my mind she started to whimper and almost cry

"areum" i shook her awake, she grumbled, "hey wake up" i whispered, "mm what is it?" she mumbled her eyes still closed, "you were shifting in your sleep, you were probably having a nightmare" i whispered, she nodded and she opened her eyes a little

she stood up a little and looked around and her eyes widened when she saw mingyu, "when did you find mingyu?" she whispered her hands clenching around one of my sleeves, "just a few moments ago, and you forgot the oppa" mingyu answered before me

she sigh before mumbling "oppa... how did that bomb go off?" she said the last part looking up at me, "um, a man walked into my room with a box containing the bomb and it exploded, killing him in the process" i responded

"oh" was all she said and she looked down, going deep in thought, "where are we going now?" she asked, "since now we know someone is after us we're going back to l.a. to regroup and figure out what to do, but you are just going to go to school" myungho said turning a corner, "what do you mean i'm going back to school?" she had wide eyes

"i don't think they know you exist, so you can just live your normal life and not have to deal with this" this time mingyu responded, looking out the window, "i can't just go back to school! i refuse!" she said raising her voice, "areum you have to, it's better this way. it's better for you to not get caught up in our world" i said to her, "how can i not get caught up in your world when i literally live with you" she was still yelling

"school is horrible, i'm going to be the new kid in the middle of the year, i'm going to be all alone like always, i don't want to!" tears were threatening to fall from her eyes as she looked up at me, "don't worry this time that won't happen, i promise" i caressed her cheek and wiped away a fresh tear from her face

"how can you promise that?" "don't worry, just know that this time you won't be alone" i pulled her into an embrace

-areum's pov-

he pulled me into a warm embrace, and i hugged him like it was the last time i was going to see him, "you have no idea how terrible school is, how mean the kids are, how much stress it gives" i mumbled into his chest

school was literally the worst place imaginable to me, school is where i was bullied for being different, it was where those terrible girls tortured me. school was the reason i was always stressed. even in paris when i got away from my bullies, i was all alone, i didn't really talk to anyone, i didn't want to risk the possibility of being bullied and teased again

"areum, have you forgotten how old i am? i've been to school countless times, and in many different eras. i know how terrible it is, but you still have to go so that you can still have a normal life" he said to me, "how did you..." i said putting my face up to see him

"compelling people isn't that hard, you know?" myungho said suddenly almost reading my mind, i looked in his direction, "you can just compel the staff and they enroll you easily without any needed explanation" he spoke, "what do you mean compel them?" "being a vampire gives you the ability to make people do what you want" he said, "h-have you ever c-compelled me?" i stuttered

"no, we haven't" he said without hesitating, how can i know that's true? i thought, "princess, we would never do that to you, we've never even thought about compelling you. even when you found out what we were, we didn't compel you because we knew it was inevitable that you would find out, so we didn't" mingyu said looking back at my teary face, and i slowly nodded, i shouldn't be doubting them, they basically raised me, they're my only family

we soon arrived at the airport, it actually wasn't an airport it was just a runway where rich people took off from and went to different places (a/n i literally don't know what it's called but you know what i mean right?)

the boys proceeded to guide me to the private jet and we got in, like usual the pilot came in and introduced themselves. and like usual i didn't pay any attention to them. i wasn't trying to be rude, i just had a lot on my mind

i was sat next to mingyu while myungho and jun were sat next to each other, i looked out the window to see the sunset, we had been out so long that it was becoming night already. "the sunset looks pretty" i mumbled staring out, "not as pretty as you" mingyu said under his breath, i think he didn't mean for me to hear. i blushed at his compliment and looked down at my fidgety hands

"i'm sleepy" i mumbled, laying my head on mingyu's shoulder

i slept throughout the entire flight~
