that's all i could see

and all i could feel

i was in a dark room and it was cold, i could hear nothing, i could see nothing, and i could sense nothing around me

dorian came into our room, where all of us were. we were all sick from the plague, within four days of the plague arriving in the village, we had all contracted it and some of us had even died. jieun, jeonghan's sister, died and so did seungcheol's brother. we were going to join them in the afterlife soon so they weren't too torn up about it, but still it was a sad fate that awaited us

for wonwoo especially it was hard for him. he loved soonyoung's sister and she also died

i thought i was going to do something great with my life after i escaped from my previous master. i would do something good with my life, i thought i would be able to go back and save my sister, but i suppose that's not what fate had in store for me

i was slowly able to open my eyes, but i couldn't distinguish anything around me. it was still pitch black around me, but now i could hear things

i could hear jeonghan crying over his sister's corpse and i could hear seungkwan's groans of pain

when dorian entered the room we were in, he was acting strange. he came up towards us with glowing red eyes and his canines were prominent

i had always believed vampires were things of legends and i thought they weren't real, until i saw his face and what he did to chan

i wanted to stop him, but i wasn't strong enough to move anymore. it hurt too much to move

he bit his arm and force fed chan his blood and then...

without warning or hesitation...

he snapped his neck...

he died right in front of my eyes and there was nothing i was able to do to save him

i cried and begged him to stop

dorian continued doing the same thing to the others, and because we were too weak to protest or even fight against him, he was able to do it easily

it was a horrible sight to see

my family killed right in front of me by a man i thought was good

by a man i thought was a friend to us

when he got to me, i looked at him with a face of hatred, pure anger and hate in my eyes

"why are you doing this?" i tried to sound strong, but because of my weak state i looked like i was begging him to stop

he didn't respond, he just looked at me with red eyes and a scowl on his face. he brought his hand to my neck and started choking me, i tried to fight his hold but he was too strong

"because i want to" he whispered in my ear

that's was all he said

he forced me to drink his blood and then he killed me without remorse

i awoke with a headache and the morning light hitting my eyes

it hurt to open my eyes

i looked around the small room where all of us were

they all looked like they had awoken just when i had. we were cured from the plague

we no longer had huge blisters or swelling, our fingertips were no longer turning black and we were healthy again

all of us were cured, but there was something off

"what happened to us?" i said out loud, "dorian entered our room and then he started killing us. how are we still alive?" i continued

"d-dorian's dead" sofia stuttered out as she looked at the body beside her, she looked traumatized and she was shaking from fear at what was by her side

dorian was lying on the ground, his skin was gray and all the vein on his body were visible, he had a wooden dagger in his heart

seokmin shouted when he realized that he was also beside his body, "what happened to his corpse?" he backed away from his body with a terrified expression on his face

"i don't understand what's going on" jun put his arms on either side of his head and hid his face between his knees, "jun, are you okay?" myungho muttered to him

"i-i'm hungry... but-but not for food. what's w-wrong with me?!" he shrieked, his eyes were turning red just like dorian's

"jun hyung, what's wrong with you?" i stood up and walked over to him, sweat forming on my body, nervous that he would hurt us or try to kill us like dorian did

i put my arm on his shoulder, "hyung?" i muttered to him

but before he could answer, a servant of the lord walked into the room we were in

she looked angry. she was actually the secret mistress of the lord, but they hid it from everyone. the only reason i know is because i accidently caught them in the act. her face had evident anger on it

"where have you bo-" before she could finish the sentence, she stopped talking and looked around the room we were in, and that's when i took a moment to do the same. there was blood on the floor and there was a corpse beside us, it looked like we had killed someone

she was angry because we haven't left our house in a few days because we had contracted the plague and we hadn't told the lord yet. we were expecting that they would find us dead by the next morning and that would be it. our lives would have been over and that would be our miserable end

she made a face of horror and fear as she looked at our state

but all i could focus on was the scent coming off her. i don't know what it was but it was addictive and it smelled good and i wanted a taste of it

she shrieked and started backing away with a horrified expression on her face

like she was afraid of us

i walked towards her, intoxicated by the scent that came off her; i wasn't in control of my own actions, i wasn't even sure of what i was doing, but nonetheless i went to her and bit into her neck. she shrieked in agony and pain

but in that moment i didn't care

all i wanted was her blood

and all i could think about was how good it tasted and how i didn't want to stop
