It has been a week since the incident and everyone was already having difficulty on coping on what they had witnessed from the ordeal and despite there were a lot of injured ones, casualties were very limited, thank goodness. Among the injured ones were Kuai himself and they almost lost him for the 3rd time due to the extensiveness of his injuries and the blood transfusion was not enough to cover the damage he took from Bi Han but luckily, he was going to survive.
Almost everyone had tried to drown themselves in work and missions in order to distract themselves from the sight they had to witnessed. Johnny, Jax included, went to all missions, assigning themselves to so called destress. Kenshi on the other hand. Had been there for Takeda, providing comfort presence to his son.
As for Hanzo, he never left Kuai Liang ever since, sitting there, meditate whenever he can in his room while he was listening to the machines produce sound according to his heartbeat. Once he had listened to most details the doctors had given him about Kuai's condition. He watched at every details of the injuries that were wrapped in bandages, sure there were more scars to be seen but it doesn't change the fact that he was bedridden right now and he would forever by Kuai's side, whether he wakes up or not, he would wait everyday by his side because he made a vow years ago that he would be by his side.
One thing for sure, the sight of Kuai on the concrete floor, blood surround him after Bi Han had... The familiar sight of blood, it was almost similar when he was forced to watch Satoshi died right by Quan Chi's hands, despite him disguised as Bi Han but he knew this was similar. Hanzo got up from his sit as he left Kuai's room, as he had to attend both clans for now, hopefully once the errands are done, he would be back here before Kuai wakes up.
Once he was out of the room, he sighed, leaned by the door, almost sliding down to the floor, holding back all the tears, it was not healthy to hold it in but he had to for Kuai, but with Kuai out of sight, he let it out, tears falling like the rain pours when a hand was placed on his shoulder. Looked up, all teary but smiled a little. "Kenshi".
Kenshi smiled softly, "Are you alright my friend? Dare I ask an obvious question because I already could tell that you're not". Hanzo scoffed as he look away, "You are correct. I. There is so much overwhelming guilt that if I ever had the ability to turn back time to overturn such events, or I would have swapped places with Kuai, none of this would – "
"Hanzo Hasashi! If you dare say that you would swap places with Kuai then. If you would have been in his place, regardless whether you win or lose, he would have been there with you fighting his own brother, you know that, his rage would equal yours but in ice form, as a better choice of words would be used is hell would freeze because of Sub Zero. It already happened once. Not letting that happening again". Wiped away his tears as his guilt thoughts washed over his mind until Kenshi smacked the back side of his head. "I can read your mind remember?"
"I do not absolutely care but it is for the best that you do not do that ever again....Kenshi?"
"Hmm?"
"Before I had left for the mission assigned, Kuai was having trouble sleeping, I have known his night terrors but these few nights before the incident, do you ever asked about it?"
"I'm afraid I have no clue either, we could ask Raiden for assistance, he met both of you before you were both met in a friendlier term". Hanzo nodded as he looked back to Kuai's room, and he could feel his heart sting a little, he felt like he should have known why Kuai was like this but he felt so strange, like he never knew Kuai as much as he would known. The two soon teleport to the sky temple where Raiden was residing.
