I smiled laying in the cosy bed watching Y/n slip off her beautiful dress from the day "You keep staring at me today" she says 

"I know"
"why?"
"I like looking at you, and thinking about you" 

"creepy" she giggled 

"I like thinking about you" I smiled 

"still creepy"

"You're my wife"

"still" she giggled coming to bed 

"Y/n?"

"Umm?" she asks getting her little knitting from the side table

"did you have any... boys before me?" 

"Why do you ask?"

"I'm curious" 

"I did some points Romulus."

"Like.... liking or just... waterfalls?"

"alike or two but only one waterfall in my life and that was you Romulus"

"Did you have any girls before me?"

"You know I did"

"what about a waterfall?"

"once. before you. And I regret every moment of it"

"I know, come on let's get some sleep" she smiled giving me a kiss and putting her knitting away and nuzzling close to me 

"Aww goodnight y/n" I smiled giving her a kiss and cuddling her tightly

"Goodnight Romulus" she smiled 

I laid watching the darkness of the room, the breeze trickling in through the open window causing the curtain to slightly move trying hard not to slip into the nightmare of sleep.

"Lovely Romulus" Her voice echoed in my head 

"Ygraine!" I called running through the woods after her -

"It was made for my brother." she smiled at me handing me her brothers old armour

"Doesn't he need it?" I asked her as I took it and I saw her brother wonder past

"He's grown since then." she smiled "I hope you come home Romulus" she smiled giving my cheek a kiss -

"Come on Romulus!" she giggled running through the woods 

"Ygraine! wait for me!" I called back chasing after her 

"come on!" she giggled 

"How much further!" I complained stopping by  a tree

"Not much, come on" she smiled giving my cheek a little kiss "No kisses till we get to the river" 

"Can't we just kiss in a bush? or behind a tree? it's not like your families gonna find us" I sighed following her deeper and deeper into the woods -

"Ygraine... do you love me?" I asked her as we laid in the woods her head on my chest my hand playing with her hair 

"Of course I do Romulus"

"Ygraine, Would you marry me?"

"I might do"

"you don't sound excited about that?"

"Well, I'd be excited, if it were happening"

"Ygraine I mean it. would you want to marry me?"

"Are you really asking me?"
"Of course I am,"

"Id love to Romulus"

"Aww my sweet Ygraine," I smiled giving her a kiss -

We were engaged for what felt like forever, years it went on just being engaged but I didn't care I was in stupid puppy love any time I asked her to sort out our wedding we would get close but she would always wrestle out of it somehow with an excuse why not, 

"Ygraine..."

"No, it's far to cold out to get married I wanna be married in the summer"

"Ygraine..."

"No Romulus, the weather going to be terrible we can't get married then I don't want it to rain on our wedding day"

"Ygraine..."

"No Romulus!"

"Don't... don't you love me? don't you wanna get married?"

"Of course I do, but this is the most amazing day of our lives and I want it to be perfect I don't want us to settle"

"Ygraine I don't care what the day is like so long as we get married"

I remember being stood on the hill by the woods passing she was late, over an hour late almost everyone had left by now all assuming she had abandoned me but I didn't give up hope I stood out on that hill for over three hours passing, hoping, waiting and dreaming she was going to come around the corner but... she never did. By the time the sunset, it began to rain so I ran back to town my mind trying to think of reasons why she might not have come, what if something happened to her! what if she was hurt! I'm sure there was a reason...

I got to her little house and it was empty, dark. I opened the door forcefully and searched the house all I found was a letter on the table, My mind jumped to the conclusion she had been taken! she had been kidnapped by some awful men! or something even worse 

"Ygraine!" I yelled into the house but nothing "Ygraine!" I yelled running down the street in the now pouring rain "Ygraine!" I screamed in panic tears streaming down my face I ran through the town, down the road in the pouring rain until my feet gave in and I fell to my knees in the thick mud as I did the note fluttered onto the mud from my hand and I saw it was her handwriting on the front so I unfolded it

'Dear Romulus, 

We both knew this day would come. 

I can't keep doing this to you, it breaks my heart to keep doing this to you. 

Romulus Once I truly loved you, I adored you, you were my first love, but I have learnt the longer I spend with you the less I loved you.

I grew up and so did you, and as we did I think we grew apart. 

we are not the children we once were, You were my prince, my strange love, but I can't take being with you anymore.

I can't marry you.

I can't love you any longer.

and I can't stay here. 

I am running off to the north with Ellis. 

Please if you ever loved me Romulus don't come looking for me, 

I don't want the little village life, I don't want to be your wife, to bare children and bake bread,

I want to run bare-breasted in the woods, I want to get pleasure from what or wherever takes my fancy, I want to be a fighter, A worrier Princess. 

I won't ever forget you Romulus.'
