Twelve Soldiers
Twelve guns are abandoned
When the battle is done
For soldiers whose names
Will be forgotten
For soldiers whose deeds
will not be remembered.
For soldiers who have fallen,
And will not be remembered.
Twelve families mourn
When the battle is done
For soldiers whose names
They will forget.
For soldiers whose deeds
They will forget
For soldiers who have fallen
And will not be remembered.
Twelve crosses have stood alone
Since the battle was done.
For soldiers who's names
Are long forgotten.
For soldiers whose deeds
Are no longer remembered
For fallen soldiers
Who have been forgotten
Many people are alive
Now that the battle is done
Because of soldiers whose names
Were lost
Because of soldiers whose deeds
Were forgotten
Because of fallen soldiers
Who sacrificed to save others.
And have been repayed by being lost to memory.
