The crescent moon shone over the young pillars, the female's soft giggling ringing into the empty night air. It was a known fact that the two were awfully close, glued to each other's side during a given task. However, one out of the two made their longing for the other crystal clear; constantly clinging on to them for a reaction they hoped for.Now was one of those moments. Shinobu Kocho followed the Water Pillar into the garden, her lavender eyes never leaving his expressionless face. The aroma of the sweet wisteria trees filled their nostrils; the area was pleasant.
"Hey, Tomioka." She called out, her sickeningly sweet voice ringing inside his ears. Their hands brushed against each other, though they weren't close enough. That was ample to send the male's heart into a world of its own.
Giyuu hummed in response, settling against a tree, closing his eyes to distract himself from fawning over the petite woman. Under the moon's light, Shinobu was fascinatingly beautiful, her eyes glimmered with a pure innocence; one that Giyuu was afraid to taint.
Shinobu settled beside him, her cheeks growing warm due to the proximity. Every fiber in her being ached for the male's touch. She wanted to connect with him, heart to heart, body to body. Anything that could possibly bring the two closer.
"The moon's quite pretty tonight, isn't it?"
Giyuu cracked an eye open, glancing over his shoulder to take a quick look at the smiling pillar. The evening breeze wafted throughout the garden, ruffling their clothes. His eyes were solely on her, her smile, her lips, her eyes. Everything about this woman drove him crazy and he hated that.
"I suppose so. The stars are shining its brightest tonight."
The stars were prominent in the dark, cloudless night sky. It's vibrancy set up a romantic atmosphere upon the two. The drum of their hearts grew louder within each passing minute, though the other couldn't hear it.
Shinobu mustered up the courage to place her hand against the other's, gradually interlocking their hands. Her cheeks were practically the same shade of a tomato, though the Water Pillar couldn't judge. The same could be said for him.
"Tomioka.." Shinobu breathed into the night air, her voice barely a whisper. Giyuu pushed himself to inch closer, his eyes locked in on her soft, pink lips. He wanted to snatch a taste—he needed to.
Giyuu gulped down the lump in his throat and heaved out a low, silent sigh. "Yes..?"
The Insect Pillar turned around, startling the raven head. Her smile deepened and her eyes held a newfound determination. "Say, why don't we rewrite the stars?"
"What do you mean?"
Shinobu giggled once again, the sweet melody sending Giyuu's heart into a fluttering mess.
He slightly cocked his head to the side, disoriented by her choice of words. Was this a confession? Perhaps, a consolation of some sort? Did he look too dispirited? She was full of mysteries and Giyuu wanted to get past that barrier.
"The stars are shining its brightest tonight, but I bet we can make them shine brighter with the beginning of our love story." She said before placing her lips against his.
At that very moment, their hearts no longer yelled for the other for they have finally connected.
Giyuu immediately reacted, deepening the kiss as time passed by. The world around them grew silent, the click of the missing puzzle piece being the only sound. Her lips felt right against his own, so soft, so tender. Shinobu Kocho was everything he needed to make his life complete.
Shinobu smiled into the kiss, wrapping her arms around his neck. The anger she once felt faded into the whisk breeze, a sense of peace replacing it. She didn't dare to let go and neither did Giyuu.
The night was still young, and they were planning to rewrite the stars with a story of their own.
