MODERN AUPROMPT: It's been nearly two years since their mutual breakup, neither having the courage to send out a text in hopes of rekindling what they once had. Between months, they'd write letters expressing the deep regret that came with their decision, and safely store said letters in a box. However, after a year, one of the two accidentally sends out a letter.

MITSURI placed the postage stamp onto the envelope, her tongue slightly sticking out as she attempted to smoothen it out with the pad of her thumb. With a hum of approval, she swiftly snatched the envelope, without revising the mailing address, and proceeded outside to drop it into a mailbox.
Prior to, she had been writing down her thoughts about a certain raven head all meanwhile being reminded of her necessity to mail out a printed copy of her resume to a hiring manager downtown.
Amongst writing, the stack of letters she had written monthly remained alongside her on the plastic pink table, begging to be sent out one of these days.
Mitsuri didn't notice that she had accidentally taken one in assumption that it was her resume.
It's been four days since she mistakenly sent out one of her love letters to Giyuu Tomioka, her ex-boyfriend of three years. And, it's been four days since Mitsuri hadn't noticed, instead, worrying that she hadn't heard back from the company.
"Hey, are you sure you actually sent out your resume?" Tengen asked, skimming over her table as he waited for his frozen pizza to heat up in the microwave. He then shifted his gaze over to the countertop, his eyes landing on the pile of mail resting over a small pink basket, a second pile arranged of those she would be sending out soon.
Mitsuri sighed, long and hard, as she rested her head on her table, practically lifeless. "Yes, I am really sure I did. It shouldn't take this long, should it?" She lifted her tired eyes to him, pouting.
Tengen hummed in response, picking up an envelope from the second pile, and flipping it over for his roommate, and best friend, to see. "Uh, I don't think this should be here then." He dropped it in front of her, crossing his arms over his bare chest.
In a hurry, Mitsuri lifted her head and stared down at the white, nearly open envelope. It was addressed to the company she desperately hoped to work for. An unbearable silence formed in the kitchen, her wide and frightful eyes never leaving the piece of paper. Tengen could've swore she'd seen a ghost, as all color began to drain from her face.
He dropped himself onto the seat beside her, placing a hand on her shoulder. "Hey, it's okay. There's still other jobs hiring, I'm sure you'll score one that's way better than this one." Tengen flashed a toothy smile, attempting to uplift her spirits.
Mitsuri smacked her lips together, clearing her dry throat as her hands immediately gripped her head. "No, no! It's not that, I.." Her voice faltered into a low mutter, tears beginning to cloud her vision. "I think I sent out one of those letters."
"You mean, the ones that you keep in that pink glittery box? The ones addressed to him?" Tengen as well began to panic, bringing a hand to his mouth in shock.
Silently and slowly, Mitsuri only nodded her head, letting it drop onto the table in clear embarrassment and fear. She could only hope that over the year, Giyuu moved to another house, or that the letter would get lost somewhere, anywhere.
