FLOWER SHOP AUPROMPT; Giyuu is the local florist, well-known for his beautiful work in organizing bouquets for any occasion. After losing the ability to speak, he had lost the ability to feel joy, living a mundane lifestyle.
until an unintentional rude customer came into his life.
✻ ✻ ✻
KYOJURO hid within the swarm of busywork people, apologizing to any that he accidentally bumped into. He was currently waiting for a certain store to open up, constantly eyeing the closed curtains of the shop's windows, hoping that a pair of tan, calloused hands would gently open them to alert him that they were minutes away from opening.
It's been nearly a year since his feelings developed towards the local florist; he had also unfortunately left a bad first impression. In a hurry to arrive at his mother's 35th birthday, he attempted to rush the worried teen, as well questioning him the reason as to why he wouldn't respond.
And, then he realized: he was mute.
"Oh.. OH! I am so sorry! I am very sorry!" Kyojuro apologized relentlessly, lowering his head in shame. A hand to his arm stopped his nervous rambling, lifting his gaze to the florist, meeting his sincere eyes. With his expression, it was safe to assume he was forgiven.
Giyuu, to what his name tag displayed, nodded his head towards the register, guiding him to the beautifully organized bouquet. He smiled down at the assortment of flowers, recognizing one to be his favorite. The lily.
Kyojuro tapped his card against the reader, the sign of approval flashing over the screen. "Again, I am so sorry, I'm in a rush to a birthday party! But, do not worry. I will show you how deeply sorry I am for the next few days!" He snatched the bouquet from the counter, waving goodbye as he dashed out the door.
Giyuu only blinked in confusion, briefly staring at the glass doors before returning to his usual work.
Days had turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months. After the first few days, Giyuu's face would instantly light up at his arrival, his eyes twinkling with joy and excitement for what would come with his daily visit. Kyojuro loved seeing the emotion on his face when he stopped by, seeing those soft lips turn into a gorgeous smile, and the sudden glow from his usual dull appearance.
He was content, and filled with overwhelming happiness to be the one to bring such joy to his life. Each passing week, he'd learn more about Giyuu, texting each other back and forth, day and night. He'd foolishly stay up later hours to continue their conversation, ignoring the creeping light seeping from the cracks of his curtain, and go about his day with a tired body.
It didn't matter, it was all worth it for the boy he had fallen in love with.
"Ah! He's already opening the doors!" Kyojuro hasted through the crowd, leaving behind his sudden daydream and returning to reality. He squeezed out into the open, apologizing to a little boy he happened to knock over, avoiding the intense glare coming from their mother.
Through squinted eyes, he noticed Giyuu blankly staring at the door, as if waiting for someone to walk in. That was his cue. Kyojuro crossed the street safely, pushing through the door, and meeting the ecstatic look on Giyuu's face, whose eyes immediately darted to the plastic bag dangling in his hand.
"I brought you some simmered salmon daikon!" Kyojuro lifted the bag and placed it carefully onto the countertop, his cheeks growing extremely hot as he felt exposed. Anything that Giyuu favored, Kyojuro would make sure to note it down. "I remembered, from our last talk.. hope that's not weird." He grinned awkwardly, seeing Giyuu urgently shake his head as he accepted the bag.
He grabbed his phone, tapping on the iMessage app, and quickly swiped his fingers across the keyboard, the clicking of his nails replacing the brief silence. Kyojuro tilted his head in confusion, facing the wooden floorboards as he waited.
A few seconds later, his ringtone went off.
Yuu❤️: Remembering minor details about me really makes me happy. I love it, please don't stop.
Kyojuro lifted his gaze from his phone, seeing that same affectionate look in his eyes. Honestly, he had always doubted what that look meant, finding it utterly ridiculous to decipher it as mutual feelings. But, it was becoming difficult to deny it, as he would wear the same expression whenever he looked at Giyuu.
He exhaled breathlessly, clutching a fistful of his shirt as his knees began to wobble. He held onto the counter tightly, fearing that if he let go, even in the slightest, he'd lose his balance and make a fool of himself.
His phone vibrated once more against his left hand, his eyes darting towards Giyuu who nodded to his phone. With a nervous smile, he lowered his gaze to the dim screen.
Yuu❤️: For a guy who has been showering me with many gifts and not-so subtle compliments these past seven months..
Yuu❤️: I'm surprised you haven't asked me out yet.
