(aka my favorite chapter so far)

"Where are we going?" Lucas wondered out loud as they openly held hands down the street.

"I thought we could multitask," Dakota responded, "We could go somewhere or do something that would get our mind off of the drama in our house and what may be considered a date."

"Wow, for someone so blunt, that was a long explanation for 'a date'," Lucas smirked, "You're nervous, aren't you?"

"Well, this is technically our first date," Dakota replied. He felt Lucas's sweat-free hand in his, and although he had some post-panic from recently coming out to people, something about Lucas's hand felt like a warm sunny day. Although, it was kind of chilly for a spring evening; the outlook for today's weather wasn't exactly great.

"Liar," Lucas accused, still smiling, "You totally considered our little sex-ed diner escapade a date."

"I did not!" Dakota scoffed.

"Oh, so you didn't kiss me passionately afterward?" Lucas replied, "And you didn't get jealous as soon as Master George started hitting on me?" Dakota ignored Lucas's tease and scrunched his face up.

"Hey, don't call him that," Dakota replied.

"Hm?" Lucas questioned with a curious head tilt.

"Don't call him Master. I thought that was me?" Dakota replied seriously.

"Oh... I see," Lucas smiled, not as teasingly and with a little more shyness, "Yes, sir. I won't call anyone Master but you." Lucas then coughed a little, mumbled "jealous," then coughed again.

Dakota was blushing after that.

"Let's just hurry to our date," Dakota replied, turning his blushing face away. He was a little worried about their date being ruined by rain, but he also wanted a subject change.

"Why rush?" Lucas questioned, swinging their hands between them happily. "I like being with you," he admitted.

That made Dakota smile the wonky smile that he hated.

"Really?" he asked.

"Well," Lucas replied, "When I'm around you I'm extremely curious, and also I'm desperate to eventually get in your pants-" Dakota, in surprise, widened his eyes and glanced down at his uncomfortable, tight black skinny jeans- "But even with that, I still think you're sweet and caring. I like that when I tease you, you blush. I like how innocent you are. It makes me trust you more."

"Thanks?" Dakota replied.

"It was a compliment. Also, you're really hot," Lucas replied, then eyed him like a meal, "Especially in those pants. Hot damn." Dakota was back to blushing again.

But good. Avil's suggestion on his pants worked.

"Yeah, but they're really tight and uncomfortable," Dakota admitted, massaging his stomach where the pants were surely creating red indents in his skin. Lucas donned a mischievous grin.

"I can take them off for you if you'd like?" Lucas replied.

"Ha ha," Dakota replied.

"You say that as if I was joking," Lucas continued, "Did I not just say I wanted to get into your pants?"

"Lucas!" Dakota scolded, "We are in public." He was suddenly aware that anyone walking down the sidewalk could hear them.

"In a ghost town. No one has walked past us yet," Lucas replied.

"Yes, they have. You obviously have not been paying attention," Dakota replied. Or he was just paranoid.

"It'll be fine," Lucas replied, lifting his hands up to show Dakota, "We're dating now, remember? We can do whatever we want. Including talk about our sex life. Or lack thereof. I haven't figured out which one is going to happen yet."
