Jacob was the first after me to arrive at the plane, shortly followed by the rest of the massive looking men I've been training for the last few days. As soon as dinner was done I headed straight over, not wasting a second to say goodbyes. A wave was rushing over me that I thought was long gone once Joseph told me I was free from Stryker's grasp. It was consuming me again, yearning for the revenge that I never got. The killer I was molded into surfacing and ready for blood.
The plane ride was long and unbearable. I couldn't sleep at all knowing what awaited me once we landed. Everyone was asleep right now, resting for the mission ahead, but I didn't need sleep, I needed him.
It must have been two hours of me pacing up and down the length of the plane before I heard the voice saying the words I've been waiting for "everyone please take your seats, we are preparing to land," finally, I'm coming for you.
My body ached in anticipation, every nerve, every muscle, every fiber of my being knew the layout of the land I was mere minutes from and I couldn't contain the rage that was boiling inside me. My leg rapidly tapped the floor beneath my foot and I had shut my eyes going through the plans one last time.
"Bugs, are you okay?" Joseph was driving both him and I to our drop off location and I hadn't said a word to him since we boarded the plane. I didn't know what I was feeling, it was like my senses were on overdrive to see the man that once stole everything from me. All I wanted was to watch him die, to see life leave his eyes like he had done to me a million times over but he wouldn't let me die, just sat me at the brink of death wishing it would finally consume me.
He snapped his fingers in front of me bringing me out of my daze and I realized we were here, we were actually here. I used to sneak out of this exact path every time I needed to get parts for my trucks. It was also the same path I took the night I tried to escape, the night that Joseph can never take back.
Shaking off the thoughts I looked over at him, "let's do this," I smiled a devilish smile and he nodded, understanding we needed to go.
"Everyone in position," he called over the ear pieces we were all given, "on my mark we head in and remember you kill anyone on site, this bastard isn't getting away with it this time."
With that we all snuck in, I made Joseph follow me, seeing as I knew this area better than he did. I could hear gun shots off in the distance and my heart raced faster because I knew it wouldn't be long until Stryker was put in his underground hideout. I needed to get to the main house fast before his men were alerted.
"Joseph, we need to move quicker. Once he's inside that bunker there is no way of getting into it."
"You go, I have your back," we rushed up to the main house as quickly as we could while staying covered. Joseph took out three of the men at the door and I drove my knife into the neck of the guard down the hallway that we entered.
"Bugs what door?" I couldn't remember where I was going, this was the only blank space in my head. I was never in this part of the house but one time. The only reason I knew about Stryker's hideout was because we had been under attack once before and Lee mentioned it to me when he was driving me to a drop off location.
"Check that door," I pointed to one down the hallway, "I'll start here and meet you halfway, it sounds like your guys have taken out the majority of the people guarding the outside."
With that we started clearing each room down the length of the long hallway we were in. As I entered the last door I was stopped dead in my tracks, the devil himself was sitting in a chair behind a large desk with a smirk plastered on his face, "I was wondering when you would come back to me, my sweet girl."
He sat there and stared at me, the smile that hid a thousand lies on display for me to see. I checked on my spit and gripped my gun tighter in my right hand. I wasn't scared of him anymore. The anger inside me was fueled like gasoline on a fire, I was erupting with rage just from the look of him.
"You will die today," was all I said before he jumped up and slammed his fists down on the desk in front of him.
"Listen to me you little bitch, I made you!" He slammed his fists on the desk again causing me to jump back a little, "do you not remember everything I have done for you, or do you need reminding?"
From under his desk he pulled out a box similar to the one that Roman had at the house in Moscow and my heart lurked to my throat. It can't be, my mind must be playing tricks on me right now.
"Sit," he demanded and my legs instantly brought me to the chair in front of his desk, he still held power over me and I was fighting myself to do what needs to be done. Just pull the trigger and kill him already, what exactly are you waiting for?
"When people train their dogs they reward them for good behavior, when they disobey they get punished. See, you were always an obedient dog, puppet. You never disobeyed me. Sure you had your tantrums but I would put you in your place and you would be a good girl again. But whatever happened to you when you went to Moscow created a war between us. The death of Roman spiking a feud that I will make sure you pay for. You see, I knew he would want you, I knew he would give me any dollar amount I asked him too all for the name of freedom. But a fool you both were thinking I'd give up my most prized possession for some money. No, puppet, I used you to get under his skin. I needed him to transfer me a large sum of money so I could hack into his system and figure out exactly where his ships unload and load. It will be me that takes over his empire and you were my key and performed flawlessly like I knew you always would."
He walked over to me and leaned on his desk with his hand out touching the side of my face making my skin crawl as if there were maggots beneath it.
"Now as for getting you back to me, it was all part of the plan too. I made myself known to him and the men who control his operations, I poked around their online world and exposed myself a few times hoping they would catch on. You see, puppet, it was always you I wanted back and I knew if I made him angry enough he would be forced to use you to get to me. Your brain is powerful but those hands are even more lethal and he'd need both to take me down. I know you would tell him you needed to be the one to kill me, but I know you, your loyalty will stay with me forever so getting you here in front of me again was just part of the plan."
He knew I would come for revenge and it was all part of his plan to take me again. What a sick man, he stands before me calculating his next move all while I can't stop staring at the box on his desk.
He grabbed my jaw in one of his hands and brought his alcohol soaked breath close to my face. The whites of his eyes stained yellow from all the smoking and drinking he's done his entire life and his teeth crooked and discolored. What used to be smooth skin in his youth is now covered with wrinkles and scars from the years of abuse he's put on his body and I couldn't help pity him at this moment because little did he know this would be the last time he would ever touch me.
"Puppet,"his grip getting tighter, a smile now forming on his lips, "I'm going to need you to kill Joseph for me and then we can talk about your mother."
