My eyes open and the light coming through the windows shines into my eyes. I look around my room, then at my laptop. I must’ve fallen asleep. I shut my laptop lid and start making my way downstairs. I don’t see my mum anywhere so assume she’s at work.

Last year, my mum got a new job. She’s one of the only workers there that can speak Chinese, and since that business does a lot of business with China, my mum gets called in to help a lot. She always goes to work early in the morning, and comes home late. I don’t mind though. It gives me more time on my own. I run back upstairs and start getting ready for the day.

Once I finally finished straightening my hair, I sneak outside and start walking to the train station, making sure that Elliot and Miles don’t come again. My head darts left and right, every few seconds. I don’t want them to somehow sneak up on me. My legs hurt when I walk, but the pain is bearable. Why did they bruise me? What did I ever do to them? I continue walking and try to forget about them. They aren’t worth worrying about.

By the time I get there, I sit on one of the benches. I don’t know why, but I like to come to the train station to hang out. For some reason it makes me feel better about myself. I never actually use the train. Kind of weird actually.

After 30 minutes, I’m about to leave when I see somebody that catches my eye. Somebody I recognise. They’re sitting on a bench in the distance. It can’t be… can it? I try to look more closely. The boy has black hair, swept over to one side of his face. He’s wearing a dark blue t-shirt and he’s looking directly at his phone. My curiosity takes over and before I can control myself, I’m already walking over to him.

When I’m only a few meters away, I can see him. But no, I must be imagining things. It can’t be him. I slowly move over so I can see his entire face. It’s him. It’s Phil Lester.
