dalton slowly peered into ariana grande's dressing room. he had knocked several times and waited for a response for the last 5 minutes ... but to no avail. he knew she had to have been in there getting ready since the main concert event was to start in an hour. "ari, are you in here?"
sure enough, she was. but she was sitting in her chair, with her phone firmly attached to her hands, and the sounds of muffled cries were echoed across the dressing room. concerned, dalton rushed over to ariana's side, finding her tear-stained face and red-shot eyes staring back at him. "what's wrong, ariana?"
saying nothing, ariana continued to sob, shaking her head. instead of telling him what happened, she handed him her cellphone with the newspaper article that caused her to burst into violent tears.

"tom and i had been casually dating for the last few months." ariana explained once she regained some of her composure. her words were slightly broken, but she at the very least regained her ability to speak. "i told him i needed time before i could fully commit, and he told me he understood. just a week ago, i told him i was finally ready, and he was so happy." her words became closed once again by heavy sobs. "i asked him if there was anybody else in his life, and i told him i would've been alright with that as we both agreed to being open... and he lied to me and said there was nobody else."
ariana brought her teary eyes to dalton, who looked mortified with what he had just read and heard. "i just wanted him to be honest... i feel so played." she covered her face with her hands. "i thought z was my friend! and tom... how could he just lie to me like that?!"
dalton placed both his hands on her knees, trying to soothe her. dalton didn't know what to feel; he felt devastated seeing the woman he was in love with in so much pain, he felt pain knowing that ariana was about to give her heart to someone... someone that wasn't him, and he was angry beyond words enough to kill whoever this tom holland was for causing ariana to cry as much as she had. "i'm going to kill that motherfucker. i swear to God he's dead -
ariana placed a hand over his own that were still on her knees. "i'm going to go talk to my band really quickly. i'm going to change the track listing. if anyone asks any questions... just let them know i'm taking a brief walk outside."
