Miss Jenn's POV

I had asked the drama kids to meet up with me at the local coffee shop, for a much better reason than before. I was still fired, yes, but at least this would be fun.

I was late to meet them there, but so were a few of them. Ashlyn, EJ, Gina, Nini, Carlos, and Seb were already there. Ricky, Big Red, and Kourtney were missing. I ordered a coffee before sitting by the kids.

"Hi Miss Jenn." Seb smiled.

"Hi. Where are the others?"

"Ricky's picking up Big Red and Kourtney." Ashlyn explained. "They're working."

"Okay, we'll start when they're here." I looked around, impatiently waiting. They showed up a few minutes later, interrupting everyone's conversations.

"Sorry, we were really busy." Big Red apologized, sitting down with everyone else.

"It's fine." I smiled. "We tend to write new songs for each musical we do, right?"

"Yeah." A few of them said.

"Okay, to be clear, is that legal?" Ricky asked.

"Uh... very good question." I shrugged. "Anyways, since you're all so good at writing those songs, I was thinking—"

"We write the whole thing?" Nini asked, eyes wide.

"Sounds fun, doesn't it?"

"I mean, hard, but yeah."

"Is there enough time in summer for that?" EJ asked.

"EJ, we're all wonderfully talented. So yes." Ashlyn said sarcastically as she nudged him.

"We could always figure out a musical we do want to do." I offered.

"It sounds really fun though."

"I think so too."

"Everyone's in?" I asked.

"Yep," "yeah," and "sure," came from each of them.

"Great."

EJ's POV

"Need a ride?" I offered to Gina and Ashlyn.

"Nope, Big Red. Thanks." Ashlyn walked off.

"Well, I do." Gina nodded.

"Mkay."

"So I guess you're doing this even being out of school?"

"Yeah, one more East High experience." I nodded.

"That's great!"

"I'm excited." We started driving to Ashlyn's house. "You?"

"It sounds pretty fun. Without my mom here I wouldn't really have much to do this summer."

"Well, we'd all be... friends regardless." I told her.

"I guess that's true. But Ashlyn's always with Big Red—"

"Is that, like, an annoying thing?"

"No, I'm glad." She assured me. "But with her being who I live with, it's kinda weird. Her parents are barely ever there."

"They work a lot. But I'm glad you're glad, she seems pretty happy." I smiled. "But call me anytime."

"Might do that."

"Sounds good." I smiled wider as I drifted into Ashlyn's driveway.

"Well, thanks for the ride." Gina hugged me. I managed to hide the color in my face as I hugged her back. She pulled back and we locked eyes for a few seconds.

"Whenever you need one." I nodded.

"Oh, anyways, I should get inside and call my mom. We normally talk about now."

"Okay, great. Bye."

"Bye." Gina rushed into the house. I drove home.
