Howie's POV
I had communicated with both Big Red and Nini to figure out where Kourtney was. The first part of my trip had been canceled, and I was home for more days than I expected. I didn't expect Kourtney to be completely ecstatic I was back, because it hadn't been that long, but I had decided to surprise her nonetheless.
I showed up around the same time as both Big Red and Seb. "Oh, forgot you were gonna be here." Big Red smiled.
"Why are you here?" I tilted my head.
"He gave me a ride." Seb smiled.
"Plus, I— uh, wanted to see Ashlyn." He rang the doorbell. There was commotion from the other side of the door as the bunch of laughing girls ran down the stairs before Nini opened the door.
"Hey Seb— what in the world is going on?"
                              "Hey Kourtney." I grinned.
"You're back?" She came over and we hugged, smiling.
"Seb accidentally texted me for a ride." Big Red explained, somehow both only looking at Ashlyn and avoiding eye contact with her. "So I gave him one."
"Thanks again for that." Seb smiled.
"Ash..." Big Red pulled his girlfriend aside.
"Guys, come in!" Nini invited us all in. Everyone went inside before the door closed, aside from Big Red and Ashlyn.
"Why are you here?" Kourtney asked me as the others went to Nini's room to put down Seb's things.
"Trip kinda got all messy, but the one good thing about that is that I'm back in Salt Lake."
"Yeah, I guess that is pretty good." We locked eyes.
                              Please finally work.
I leaned in. I noticed Kourtney doing nothing the same.
                              Don't let anyone interrupt us.
Kourtney's lips met mine for a few seconds before we both pulled back and breathed. "I was waiting to do that." I told her.
                              "Glad you did."
"Anyways, I should probably get going." I said.
"That was an abrupt change of subject." She raised her eyebrows.
"I'm not good with feelings or girls." I chuckled lightly.
                              "Mkay. Bye."
                              "Goodbye Kourt."
                              Ashlyn's POV
"Um... I..." I took a deep breath. "So what do you wanna talk about?"
"You've been avoiding me for about a day." Big Red said, sounding hurt.
"I'm sorry." I sighed. "I— he... he kissed me."
                              "Who?"
"The guy who's been hitting on me." I admitted, sitting in the grass. "I was still trying to figure out how to tell you."
"You could have just... told me." He sat beside me.
"I wanted to. I freaked out the second it happened and was halfway to your house before realizing it was probably an awful idea, so I tried to figure out now to tell you. I just... I don't wanna loose you." I started crying.
"Did you not feel able to talk to me?" He frowned, pulling me into a hug. I hugged him tightly, desperately hoping he wouldn't break up with me. I tried to get my breath to return to normal, but all I could do was breath shakily and cling to him.
