Seb's POV

I was alone in my room, painting my nails. While I waited for them to dry, I thought of what I could do. Carlos had been out of town for a few days. I think that's why I felt the want to paint my nails. I didn't usually do it unless I was with him, because it came off quick enough working on the farm.

Kourtney, Nini, Gina and Ashlyn hadn't replied to any texts, which was fine. They were probably all busy, maybe even together. I wasn't very close with Ricky or EJ. I was a little closer to Big Red, so I figured I might as well reach out to him.

I set down my phone for a minute, starting a second layer of nail polish, before receiving a call. I picked up. "Hey?" I had forgotten to read the contact.

"Hey."

"Oh, Kourt! What's up?" I smiled.

"Gina, Ash, and I are spending the night at Neens' house. We wanted to let you know you could come." Kourtney replied. "We didn't see your texts until a minute ago."

"Really?"

"Of course."

"Thanks, I think I can come!" I beamed. "Talk to you later."

"You too." She hung up. I found my mom.

"Can I go over to Nini's for the night?" I asked hopefully.

"Sure."

"Thanks!" I went back to my room, collected what I needed, and started out the door before realizing that I didn't have a ride. My parents were too busy too take me, as were my siblings that could drive. I pulled my phone out, meaning to text the group chat with the girls, but accidentally sending the text to Big Red.

I smiled and sat on the porch, breathing in the fresh air as I waited for Big Red. We didn't live very close to each other, but I liked being outside for awhile.

"Thanks!" I jumped up and made my way to Big Red's car when he arrived. I got in.

"Yeah, anytime." He smiled.

Ricky's POV

I kept trying to reach Big Red, but he must have been busy. He wasn't answering any texts. My dad was out of town, so I had no one to talk to without explaining too much, which I was definitely not in the mood to do.

I sighed and ended up skateboarding anywhere I could think of. I didn't want to talk to anyone my age, my parent's weren't in touch with me, and I only knew the address of Miss Jenn.

The saying 'desperate times, desperate measures?' It's true. I couldn't explain why I was currently freaking out, but I was spiraling.

I made it to Miss Jenn's house soon enough, and there was only one car in the driveway. I recognized it, despite the fact it wasn't Miss Jenn's. I hopped of my skateboard and looked up at the porch.

"Hi?" I started my way up to it.

"Oh, Ricky. Hi." Mr. Mazzara, who was sitting on the front porch (looking impatient) for whatever reason, greeted me. I walked over.

"What are you doing here?" I asked.

"Um... what are you doing here?"

"Oh, um-" I fidgeted with my jacket's zipper. "-I don't really know. I just kinda started... well, uh, freaking out. Didn't really know where to go."

"Parents?"

"Both out of town."

"And I assume friends wouldn't get it?" He asked.

"Well, I don't really get it either." I admitted.

"Sit."
