Gina's POV
I had decided to go to the public pool in Ashlyn's neighborhood. She was either with Big Red or Nini, I wasn't sure, and it felt like a waste of time in the middle of summer to sit around alone.
I spotted EJ, who was sitting at the edge of the pool with his legs dipped in the water. I walked over and sat by him. "Hey."
                              "What's up, Gi?"
"Nothing, so I came here." I shrugged. "Why aren't you in the pool?"
                              "It's cold."
"EJ Caswell won't get in the pool because it's cold? Coward." I smirked.
                              "I'll get in soon!"
                              "Yeah right."
"I'll get in now if you do too." He said.
                              "Okay, count of three."
                              "Got it."
"1, 2, 3!" I kept my smirk as EJ slid into the pool.
                              "You lied."
"Just for fun." I got in. "I don't lie, I got in."
"You also said count of three, that was a lie."
"Whatever." I laughed. "Now I'm in."
"Great." He smiled. I started swimming until the blush left my face. He followed. "So how are you?"
                              "Good now, was bored."
"I tend to be great boredom fixer."
                              "Yeah, yeah." I grinned.
"But really, if you are bored, just text me."
"You told me basically the same thing 4 days ago."
"Well I mean it." He grinned. "Why were you bored?"
"Nini and Ashlyn are busy with the musical and Kourtney's working."
"You could probably work on the musical, it sounds like you'd be good at it."
"I've never written anything." I told him.
"First time for everything. You'd be with your friends and you're absolutely amazing at everything."
"Thanks. Yeah, maybe I'll ask." I smiled.

                              Kourtney's POV
I had gone over to Nini's house after I got off work. Both her and Ashlyn were there, scribbling in their notebooks. I hadn't really done much, and I was starting to miss Howie. It's not like I needed him there, but all my friends seemed to be occupied with stuff to do.
"Okay, but that doesn't make any sense." Nini laughed, pushing Ashlyn (who had tried to change a lyric on Nini's paper) away from her.
                              "Neither does yours!" She laughed.
"We'll figure something else out." Nini decided, her laughter fizzling out. "Was that the doorbell?"
"I think so." I nodded. Ashlyn and I followed Nini downstairs and to the door.
"Gi, what are you doing here?" Nini asked, hugging Gina.
"I was thinking I could help out with the show a bit?"
"Of course!" Both Nini and Ashlyn agreed. Gina and I followed them upstairs.
I wasn't really in the mood for talking. I was exhausted after work, and for whatever reason I was feeling upset. I tried to figure out why, but I couldn't. I wasn't jealous, I was friends with all of them. I guess I just felt left out. Gina asked to join and she hadn't written before, might as well go for it.
"Can I help too?" I asked.
                              "Of course Kourt." Nini smiled.
I should've known it would've been that easy, these were my friends. I had been trying to branch out recently, but I had seemed to create a new box for myself. Now I was putting myself outside my comfort zone and it worked perfectly fine.
"Thanks." I laid on the floor by everyone else who were reading and adding to what was already written.
"You guys could stay overnight, my moms and I are free. Then we could get ahead with this." Nini suggested.
                              "I'm free." Gina said.
                              "Same." I smiled.
"Um... yeah, I'm free too." Ashlyn agreed.
