Chapter 36

"I love you, Hope" Hope smiled then captured his lips with her own in a delicious gentle kiss. She broke away too soon Landon chasing her lips as she pulled away, but she just chuckled. He looked way too seriously at her and she noticed him blushing.

"Are you mad at me?" Hope asked as she held her hand on his face, tracing his lower lip with her thumb.

"No." He smiled but Hope saw disappointment in his smile. Hope chuckled again but Landon was still dead serious.

"Were you expecting me to say it back to you?" Hope asked and Landon's face turned bright red and he looked away from Hope's eyes.

"Of course not." He said, but his voice trembled. Hope felt bad for him now, and she turned his head to face her, to look into her eyes again.

"I told you three weeks ago how I feel about you. I love you and it hasn't changed since then." He immediately had a relieved smile on his face.

"I thought you didn't remember that." Landon added with a smile.

"I wasn't that drunk... and you never even mentioned it, so I thought you were just ignoring what I said." Hope shrugged with a pout.

"I was waiting for you to say it sober... if it was really how you felt. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to ignore you... but I love you, I love you with all my heart." She smiled and Landon kissed her, this time with more passion and Hope didn't pull away either. Her hands slipped into his curls as it usually did when they made out. Landon held her by her hips with one hand and the other was sliding up her right thigh. Landon suddenly stiffened and pulled away.

"What's wrong?" Hope asked as Landon pulled his hand away from her naked thigh.

"Um... you're not wearing much clothing." He said awkwardly. Hope still wore that coat which barely covered her lower private parts. They did have some plan for that night, but after the night they had, Hope wasn't sure Landon would be up for it... and Hope looked gross. She was dirty and bloody.

"Yeah... I'm really dirty. I think I should take a shower." Hope said as she looked at Landon's flushed cheeks. He just nodded. "Do you want to?" Hope asked him and he just froze for a moment.

"What? To take a shower?" Landon asked, confused. "Umm... after you?"

"I mean sure if you want it that way... but I was thinking that umm... I wouldn't mind if you'd join me." Now Hope was the one blushing. She wasn't sure why they were so awkward all of a sudden. They've been planning to have sex, they were both incredibly horny for each other. Landon didn't reply and it made the situation even weirder. "Umm... okay... I'm going." Hope got up and walked into the bathroom. She facepalmed herself after she closed the door behind herself. What a stupid offer. They just killed two people today, Landon probably couldn't even think about sex... let alone sex with Hope, who just tore a person apart in front of Landon. It must have been a gruesome view.

Hope turned on the water in the shower, and that's when Landon opened the bathroom door. He looked at Hope who was still wearing his coat. Hope gave him a reassuring smile, then she zipped down the coat and dropped it on the floor, standing completely naked in front of Landon. He looked at her in awe but he was still silent. Hope gestured to him, to get in the shower, then she stepped inside, under the running water. She quickly rubbed off the dirt and blood from her body.

Soon Landon opened the shower door and he stood there naked as the day he was born. His face was bright red and he didn't dare to look into Hope's eyes. Hope giggled at the sight of him. She didn't mean to, but she had never seen a naked man before and the situation made her giggle and smile. She couldn't stop and she probably stared at Landon's manly part way longer than she intended and it made Landon even more embarrassed. He would look everywhere but at Hope. She regained her common sense and quickly grabbed Landon's hand, and pulled him beside herself, under the running water. They stood there motionless next to each other, and didn't know what to do. The situation got awkward again and before Hope could think of her next move, Landon grabbed a shampoo off the shower shelf, opened it and smelled it.
