Leader Maia is doing her morning routine. Every day, she rides on her majestic brown horse and shoots arrows from different directions and distances! Beatrix happily clapped her hands after she saw that all of her targets were hit right in the middle as expected of the leader of this group! Maia goes down from her horse and went closer to Beatrix.

"Have you tried to shoot arrows before?" Maia asked Beatrix while smiling. For some reason, she likes this delicate yet so pretty and intelligent girl as her little sister...

"No, Leader. I was never allowed before but I would like to try!" Beatrix told her honestly.

"If that is the case, I would like to give you something!" Maia said and whispered something to one of her guards. Soon, the guard brought a simple yet exquisite bow to the leader. She offered the bow to Beatrix. "This is my first bow given to me by my mother, the previous leader. She is the one who taught me how to fight and shoot arrows accurately. This bow looks smaller, simpler, and lighter but in the hands of a great marksman, it will never lose to an expensive bow. This is best for beginners. If you like, you can have it and practice with it."

"Really? You will give it to me? But this was given to you by your mother..." Beatrix hesitates to accept the gift.

"It is okay! My mother told me not to keep things especially if that thing has already found the right person." Maia insisted that she should accept it.

"Your mother seems like a great person and leader!" Beatrix said.

"She was!" Maia happily said then immediately brightened. "Would you like to try it now?"

"She won't!" Prince Anders immediately interrupted. "Beatrix, you will only hurt your hands..."

"Lowly man! How dare you interrupt when women are talking to each other?!! As expected of lowly creatures like you!!!" Maia angrily spat.

Prince Anders reddened because of pure hate after he heard her nasty comment but Beatrix gave him a 'Do not create unnecessary trouble' look and then smiled sheepishly.

"Andy, will you just support me?" Beatrix said then pouted cutely which in turn made him sigh helplessly.

Leader Maia, her two guards, and Prince Anders observed as Beatrix tried to draw the bow and aimed the target for the first time.

Maia gave her instructions about the correct stance, proper grip, how to place the arrow in the bow, finger position, how to draw the bowstring, and how to properly aim and release!

Beatrix tried to remember and follow the instructions. She struggled as she draw the string. It mercilessly sunk into the flesh of her delicate finger! She endured the uncomfortable pain and numbing feeling as she pulled the string with all her might! Cold sweats dripped on her temple and back as she aimed.

They did not have any big expectations, especially Prince Anders since he knew this is her first time drawing a bow and shooting an arrow. He grew up with her so he is certain that she had never held any weapon before.

It took time but when Beatrix is already confident, she released the string and the arrow flew very fast and create a THUMP sound in the target! When they checked the result, they were very stunned!!!

Damn! How could she successfully hit the bull's eye when this is supposed to be her first try? No, no, no way! It was probably a lucky shot!!!

Prince Anders secretly thought and was the most surprised of all! Leader Maia smiled from ear to ear like a proud parent...

"Sister Bea, I did not see it coming! Are you sure this is your first time?" Maia happily asked.

"I am surprised too! It was probably a lucky shot..." Beatrix honestly said.

Maia asked her to shoot various targets at different distances. It took a long time before she could release the arrows but all the results are bull's eye! Prince Anders was gaping widely after he saw all the results... He is unable to believe that Beatrix hit the bull's eye not only once but all the targets from all directions with varying distances! She took a long time to shoot and those targets were not moving but it was already too promising for a first-time bow and arrow user!

"Sister Bea! You are a natural marksman!" Maia excitedly blurted out. "With constant practice, I am certain that you will be on par with my archery champions soon!"

"Really?!! I could not believe it! Moving forward, I will practice more!" Beatrix happily grinned.

"If you want, I can also teach you basic self-defense!" Maia offered excitedly.

"Yes!" Beatrix immediately agreed.

"No!" Prince Anders immediately disagreed feeling that Maia is trying to keep Beatrix in this place.
