"You disgusting louse!" Sigyn seethed as she held up Lucifer and Loki's potential business partner by the throat. His feet dangling in the air. The man was clutching as his throat and trying his best to protest her strangling through gasped breaths.
"Sigyn calm down!" Loki shouted as he ran across the conference room at Stark Tower. Sigyn snapped her eyes to Loki's direction and they flashed bright yellow. Loki stopped in his tracks. He hadn't seen Sigyn like this in a very long time. It honestly frightened him.
"He's done. He's gone. We won't work with him. I promise you. Just put. Him. Down." Tony said standing up from his seat and walking cautiously to Sigyn's side. Her eyes still glowed and the man in her grasp was starting to lose consciousness.
"It is little boys like this that bring down empires! It is little measly children like this that have caused me so much imaginable pain! He doesn't deserve to even breathe the same air as me! I am a GOD!" Sigyn spoke with poison in her voice. But before she could say another word Lucifer came up behind her quietly and placed a gentle hand on her shoulder. She immediately eased into his touch.
"Let the weasel down darling. He isn't worth the glorious honor it is to be killed by such a beautiful creature." Lucifer said whispering in her ear softly. Sigyn blinked a few times and her eyes went back to their normal color. She dropped the man to the ground then stormed out of the room. In the hallway she paced back and forth. With her hands in her hair she mumbled to herself. How could she allow herself to get so worked up? And by a stupid comment by an idiot of a man? Sigyn was doing so well lately with controlling her emotions. She had to. Especially when it came to controlling her powers. Loki walked out of the room rubbing his temples. Obviously annoyed by the altercation.
"You allow yourself to get worked up so easily. And when I, the person who you swore your undying affection to until the end of time, attempts to calm you down..." Loki trailed off. Lucifer was the one to snap Sigyn back to reality. "What he said was unforgivable. He is beneath you. And if it were up to me he would have his insides outside of his body the second he even looked in your direction. But besides that waste of a Midgardian. Why do you calm instantly to his touch?" Loki asked. Sigyn looked to him. Her face flushed still with anger. But seeing her husband so hurt made her weak.
"It's complicated." Sigyn replied.
"It's not. You love him." Loki said. A glint of pain in his eyes. Sigyn walked closer to him and took both his hands in her's.
"I have love for him, yes. But I love you. Everything in me loves you. He's familiar and he's such a big part of who I was as Jennifer. I just... I can't just forget that." Sigyn admitted. She did love Loki. And deep down he knew it. But living another life as someone else takes a toll. Jennifer Mason loved Lucifer, it was evident. And Sigyn loves Loki. And even though she fought it day and night she cannot forget the lingering feelings she still has for Lucifer. Whether romanic or not, they still live within her. Loki stayed silent. He never loved anyone like he loved Sigyn. And he would do anything to keep her. Loki opened his mouth ready to speak when Tony and Lucifer walked out of the conference room. The man behind them swiftly walked away and down the hall toward the elevator. He looked pissed, but alive. So that was good.
"We don't need his building we will find another. He asked for too much anyway." Tony said scratching his head.
"Are you okay?" Lucifer asked Sigyn who still held Loki's gaze.
"She's fine." Loki spat without turning to look at Lucifer.
"So... Ted is gone. I'll call the realtor and set up another meeting with another seller. I'll uh... leave you to it then." Tony said then walked away leaving Lucifer, Loki, and Sigyn in silence. It was an awkward silence. And the air in the hall suddenly felt very heavy.
"I can't do this right now." Sigyn said then snapped her fingers teleporting herself to the living room area of Stark Tower.
She took a seat on the couch next to Nic who was watching something about sharks on the television. Nic looked to Sigyn with a questioning look but Sigyn waved her hand as if to say "not now." Nic nodded then turned his attention back to the show. Sigyn wasn't even really watching the show. Just sitting there silently listening to the dull noise of the television to drown out her inner thoughts. As much as she wanted to believe she had changed; the old Sigyn still lay just under the surface of her being. Nic slumped further into the seat next to her and placed his head on her shoulder. Nic wasn't very affectionate. He kept to himself and rarely showed any type of public display of affection. He liked his books and his documentaries and his experiments in the lab with Bruce.
About an hour later Nic seemed to have dozed off. His shallow breathing calming Sigyn's mind. She looked down to her son's sleeping form resting on her shoulder. A soft smile forming on her lips. She may have not been able to be there to raise him; but she would do everything in her power to make it up to him every second of every day going forward.
