"Not even after all this time?"

The beautiful full moon illuminated her balcony as they sat there and enjoyed each other's company.

The beautiful summer wind blew by, and for the first time in a while they both felt at peace.

Chat noir lifted his gaze from the somewhat busy street and looked at Marinette. God she was beautiful, he thought to himself. Her eyes were closed as she took in her surroundings, she seemed so relaxed, and amidst the serenity of the night, she, for once, allowed herself to forget about all the hectic things in her life. Until she felt his gaze on her so she broke the silence first and spoke:

"whatcha looking at?"

"Only you princess" he responded as a tiny smile crept on his face.

She couldn't help but return the gesture and allow her lips to curve into a smile.

"Didn't know a stray cat such as yourself loved to ogle girls"

"Meowch, Marinette your words really hurt" he said so dramatically it made the girl next to him roll her eyes.

"You and your theatrics" she added wryly.

"Well we cats tend to be rather ostentatious"

They both started giggling until they were interrupted by her parents "Marinette sweetie don't stay up too late you don't want to be late for school tomorrow:" Sabine said before Tom followed: "Can't believe you're starting senior year tomorrow, oh hi Chat"

"Hi Tom, hi Sabine" the boy in leather greeted.

Chat Noir and Marinette's had gotten close over the last couple of years, which was the result of his friendship with Marinette growing stronger and consequently spending time together on her balcony, since they didn't have any other options.

The change in his and Marinette's relationship was, however appreciated, surprising. They just didn't know how much they had in common and before they knew it they were bonding over having unrequited feeling, which then evolved into late night visits which provided refuge for Adrien from the suffocating mess that was his life.

He was really grateful to call her a friend.

"Well, I'll take that as my queue to leave"

"Would you like a late night snack before you leave, son?" Tom asked with such a gentle look on his eyes, unlike the cold one his father always shot him.

Son, that word made this warm feeling sprout inside his chest, despite having heard it from Tom a couple million times by now. It just made him feel appreciated and loved and not some sort of tool to be used.

God, he loved the Dupain-Chengs, and how he'd love to spend more time with them. But of course, like Marinette, he had school tomorrow morning. However, perhaps he had time to grab a bite before he took off

"Yes please"

All four of them headed to the kitchen for a quick snack, because just like how Chat Noir enjoyed spending time with Tom and Sabine, they enjoyed spending time with him and make him feel at home.

Unfortunately for Marinette though, that meant she had to endure not only listening to the stray cat and her father having a pun showdown, but suffer through the seemingly never-ending embarrassing stories about her that Sabine would tell Chat about.

And just like every other night all four of them sat at the same table, she wished the floor would just split in half and swallow her whole. Deep down, however, she did enjoy the company. That is until she saw her mother go grab an album of her baby photos, so she decided to intervene before the worst could happen.
