Now, we're no expert on proms. We do not know when they're held, or where or how. Our only nugget of knowledge on them comes from the teen rom-coms and drama movies. We're not even sure they have those in France.

But for plot purposes, let's say they take place late May/ early June, yeah?

"Today marks the third month since Shawkmoth's reign of terror has ended. This also marks the third month since the villain who has terrorized the city for almost 5 years, has been revealed to be none other than world famous designer, Gabriel Agreste. To say Paris had been shocked is an understatement; some of us are still in disbelief to this day. The motives behind his crimes are still unknown, nor do we know what happened to him after Ladybug and Chat Noir took him down.

"They made a statement the day following his defeat expressing their wish to keep this information hidden out of respect to those related to him, even refraining from revealing his identity to protect his relatives, with the mayor being the only other person in possession of this Intel. Although it was short lived since his identity was leaked by an unknown source, the designer's disappearance being enough to confirm it.

"This day also marks the third month since Ladybug has been sighted, with Chat Noir doing occasional patrols to protect the city.

"Although we do not dispose of details regarding the final showdown, one thing is for certain. Paris can finally breathe easier now that Shadowmoth is gone. Ladybug, Chat Noir, if you're watching this, know that Parisians are forever indebted to you and that we are eternally grateful for all the work you've done for nearly 5 years. This was Nadja chammack, reporting from the fundraising event held by the Agreste company in solidarity with those who suffered from Shadowmoth's terrorism."

Marinette turned off the TV.

She was sitting on the couch, in her and Adrien's apartment.

Well, it was technically Adrien's apartment since he was the one to buy it, but he'd asked her to move in with him so it was theirs.

He'd bought it with the money he got after selling the mansion, which he did right after the fight.

It wasn't that big or luxurious, it was a modest cozy apartment, enough for the two of them. He'd wanted to donate as much money from selling the mansion as possible.

So she was sitting there, alone, as her boyfriend hosted the fundraiser.

With the same nagging unease inside of her ever since the day she banished Gabriel.

This new apartment was, in Adrien's words "our new chance at normal, let's start over, together."

Normal be damned, nothing about this was normal.

Outside of the apartment's front door, they had an image to maintain.

The happy lovey-dovey couple, with Adrien worshipping the very ground she walks on, and her being his support in every endeavor he ventured into, especially since his decision to step in with the company and remodel it all while undergoing the public's scrutiny because of who his father was.

That's not to say she didn't love him. She did, more than she thought herself capable.

But once that door closed, and the prying eyes of the public were away, they both allowed for their walls to crumble.
