So by a couple of hours, we meant almost 24 hours.

Hope this makes up for the tardiness ;)

"What are you thinking about princess?"

"No one can deny a star's beauty, but we always overlook the fact that they're only burning themselves out until there is nothing left of them."

"What are you suggesting?"

"That beauty doesn't have to be eternal."

They stood at Marinette's balcony, both leaning against the railings admiring the stars. They shone brighter than ever on that particular night, but they were suddenly forgotten when Chat's gaze met Marinette. They held eye contact, completely unaware of their surroundings.

Chat Noir was fascinated by how the moon illuminated her face and thought she was completely breathtaking, whereas Marinette thought how well the night complemented her eyes.

They dared not speak, they dared not move, only drowning in the limitless sea of each other's eyes.

The silence was comforting, despite how much it lingered, neither of them felt bothered. They enjoyed it, enjoyed each other's presence.

They both could feel the blush that was settling on their cheeks, then finally Marinette decided to break their silence by speaking first.

"You've been coming everyday now for the past month, before it was only a day to day thing."

"Is there any problem?"

"I should be the ones asking that."

Chat Noir took a deep sigh then flashed a weak smile before he answered: "Things haven't been exactly the best at my house."

"I'm sorry chaton." She put her hand on his shoulder trying to comfort him and he melted under her touch.

With each passing day, their relationship kept growing stronger. She knew his relationship with his father was deteriorating with each passing day so she did the only thing she could; she offered him a shoulder to cry on and a person to rely on and he was forever indebted to her for that.

"Come inside."

He followed her as she led the way towards the kitchen, they found he ro=parents in the living room area watching the TV.

"Good evening Tom, Sabine." He greeted them with a smile on his face.

"Son, so nice of you to join us." Tom returned, the excitement clear in his tone.

He really did love the superhero and viewed him as his own, having spent so much time with him he couldn't help but sympathize with him and get closer to him.

"What are you and Marinette planning?" Sabine wondered, also delighted to see Chat Noir.

She too couldn't help but get attached to the boy in leather, and as time went by it almost felt like he was truly part of the family.

"Macaroons." Marinette answered quickly as she was grabbing the necessary ingredients. "You've always wanted to learn how to make them, and I think you're ready now."

"Yes ma'am" he did a little salute, and he couldn't hide the big goofy smile that was plastered on his face.

So far, he learnt how to make cookies, bread, pain au chocolat and cupcakes. Ok macaroons, how hard can they be?

Harder than he thought.

"No son you fold you don't mix"

"No don't use regular flour."
