∆Chapter∆ 6

Mikasa POV.
Mister Leonhardt was discharged from the hospital after a week.The doctor said he won't be able to walk without a limp.I felt bad because I knew it was my fault Annie snapped at him.She keeps telling me it's not but I just can't help but think the whole situation could have been avoided if I had just been a little stronger.He came back today and walked in like nothing happed even though his displeasure of using a limp was very obvious.He managed to sit down and to my surprise actually speak to me.He said Annie will be teaching me from now on and he has nothing to do with me.Basically saying if something was to happen to me he won't take any responsibility.I nodded and went outside with Annie.She lead me to a punching bag.
"It feels kinda strange to actually teach somebody how to do this but eh."she said taking her stance.She then told me to try and copy it.I did and she let it down to correct any mistakes I made when doing mine.She did and then she explained how it's done.She told me to try it and I did.That's what we did that whole day.When the sun started to set I was beyond exhausted.How does Annie do this every day?I guess I'll just get used to it.We went to sleep and did the same things tomorrow.After a week I was starting to feel a change.My arms and legs weren't hurting as much as when I first started, and I was starting to feel less exhausted as days went by.Annie was also a very good teacher.She didn't shout even once and she corrected my mistakes to the point where I didn't do them anymore.We only did kicks and punches for another week before moving on to physical training.It was undoubtedly harder than the thing we did before.Of course Mister Leonhardt didn't let her just sit there and command me.She did her training as well while I did the one she taught me.We trained in snow at some point.It didn't really matter what weather it was outside we still did it.She said I was a really fast learner.After two month we advanced to sparring together.It wasn't anything crazy and she was obviously going easy on me but it was there to give me an idea of how it would be to fight a real person instead of a punching bag, because they unfortunately don't move.As another month passed we both grew a little in height.To our surprise I grew a little taller than Annie, but just by a couple of centimetres.My birthday passed too.Annie's was still a month away.Aside from just training she taught me how to survive in different situations.We also had little walks through the town at night when her father was in a good mood.I also learned that he wasn't her actual father but rather an adoptive one.Witch wasn't really a surprise since they look nothing alike, I just thought they were related because she called him father.She also introduced me to some other friends that weren't there the day I met the other ones.Everyone was very nice except for Porco, but he wasn't mean to me.He was mean to Reiner.I asked Annie why but she just told me to let idiots be idiots.Another month passed with Annie's birthday and it was now April.The weather was finally starting to get nicer and less cold.Her training was also starting to get harder and more intense.I asked Annie why and she told me the warrior selection was only a month away.That made me really worried.Annie told me the benefits it gives the family of the owner but I didn't care about any of them.I didn't want her to get the power because I didn't want her to die after 13 years.That dreadful month finally passed and the selection was just a three days away.It was also revealed the big military plan will be revealed after the shifters learned how to fully control they're titans.Mister Leonhardt and I were going to be preset at the ceremony so he took me to find a suitable outfit.We eventually settled for this outfit

And he bought a brown suit.The day finally came and I was with Annie getting dressed.I felt comfortable enough to have her not turn around anymore.I was going to put on the scarf when she grabbed it and told me to stay still.She then wrapped it around me so it looked nice.That unfortunately meant I couldn't put it over my face like I usually did, so she could definitely see my blush now.She got dressed in her white uniform and put on her yellow armband.We will know if she's chosen if the armband was no longer on her arm when she got out of the room.They will obviously be judged by they're scores on previous tests and exams but they will also be judged by how they fit the description of the titan's abilities and if they would be able to use them to their fullest.We arrived at the place the announcement will be made.We were standing in an open area, in front of us was an big stage the warriors will be introduced on.On the stage right now were the current warriors.The now ones were supposed to walk and stand in front of them and then the current ones will give them they're armbands.The first warrior to make his appearance was Marcel.I was so glad he made it.He stood in front of the current jaw titan and he received the armband.The crown clapped and shouted.Next was Bertholdt, he stood in front of the Collosal titan.Pieck got the Cart titan, Zeke-san got the Beast titan and Lady Tybur got the Warhammer titan.Next on the stage walked Annie as the Female titan.Mister Leonhardt and I were super glad to see her, a sense of proudness was clearly visible on his face.The only titan left was the Armoured titan.I was expecting Porco to get it but instead on the staged walked Reiner.After he received his armband they were separated in two different carriages and lead thought the entire internment zone so everyone could see the new warriors.It was well passed midnight when the celebration was over.The new warriors could finally go home to they're proud families.The only person who didn't seem happy during this whole ceremony was Porco.He seemed so angry and shocked that it was Reiner who got the titan instead of him.Anyway as soon as Annie could finally go home she was tackled into a hug by me.I was happy for her because she worked so hard for it but still couldn't hide my tears because of the curse that came with the power.She whipped my tears away and told me not to worry so much.Her father just patted her head and told her today was the day he could rest assured he made a good choice of taking her as his daughter.She didn't have any noticeable reaction but still thanked him.We went home and got to bed.Annie hugged me as usual when we slept and I hugged her tighter this time, as if she was going to disappear if I didn't.She chuckled and kissed my forehead goodnight.She then fell asleep clearly exhausted from the ceremony.I stayed up for a little longer wondering what the military plan could be but eventually decided to just wait until they announced it and went to sleep.
