Mikasa POV.
I was really excited to go to the festival with Annie. Even though I've lived here for well over a year I've never been to one. So I asked Annie to tell me what it was like and she told me what her first time going to it was like. She said her dad took her when she was about 5 years old. It was a rare occasion he let her do anything for fun or let her eat sweets. She told me he bought her a lot of doughnuts and played a couple of games with her. That's where she first tried doughnuts too, and where her 'addition' started. At the end of the night they sat on a high rooftop of a house nearby and watched an amazing firework show. That became they're tradition and they did that every year with the exception of the years Annie was either away or had to train more intensely. I was beaming with excitement to go when she told me all that. Every day that passed I was more and more inpatient. Then finally the evening of the day of the festival came. I walked into the room Annie and I shared to find a beautiful kimono lying on the bed and a note from Annie, telling me to wear it tonight. I smiled as I struggled to put it on. I finally finished getting ready and wrapped the scarf around me, taking one last look in the mirror before exiting the room. I met the gaze of mister Leonhardt as I passed the kitchen to get outside. He smiled and gave me a thumbs up motioning to the front door which made me blush a little. I exited the house and was met with an oh so familiar person. In front of me was Annie in some casual but rather good-looking clothes and the signature Warrior armband. She smiled eyeing me up and down probably happy she made the right choice while buying the kimono. She held her hand out to me and I gladly took it as we walked to the town. Once there we were met with a large crowd of different people, a lot of games and even more sweets. I looked around in awy squeezing Annie's hand tighter. She smiled and pulled me to one of the games. It was a simple shooting game with s toy shotgun. The guy at the front who was running it looked at Annie's armband and said she could choose whatever she wants it she managed to hit the little target right in the centre. She of course took the challenge and did it first try. Then she tossed me the shotgun. I smiled and shoot my shot, landing it perfectly like she did. I then gave her the look witch she returned. The games on! We shoot every shot perfectly. We were so into this imagine competition we hadn't even realized how many times we shot. When the man told us to stop we glared at him and asked witch one of us won. He nervously said it was a tie since we won almost every single price he had to give and begged us to stop. We looked at eachother and started laughing. We apologised for not realising it sooner and Annie said we won't take everything. Instead she looked at me and nodded. I blushed and looked at the toys. I ended up picking a big fluffy fox because it reminded me of Annie. We settled for games that were actually meant to be played by two and ended up tied again. While there we ran into Pieck and Porco who were dragging Reiner with them. Annie challenged Porco to some games and who was he to let down such challenges. The three of us watched them playfully argue and laugh while trying to beat eachothers score in whatever they were doing. The score was pretty even but at the end Annie managed to sweep the victory. Porco was naturally annoyed but his mood quickly changed when Reiner offered to buy him some sweets. We said our goodbyes to them and walked off to get some doughnuts. We did what Annie and mister Leonhardt did all those years back and sat on the rooftop of a house, watching the festival from above. I watched the stars forming in the sky. It was so clear, not a single cloud on it. As we finished our doughnuts we started talking and joking around. At one point Annie laughed so hard she almost slipped off of the roof. Those were the nights I wanted to remember... Those were the nights I wanted to never end.

As promised to the people that gathered around the night ended with a firework show. I snuggled closer to Annie for warmth as it was starting to get quite chilly, the fox I picked up in my lap. So many colours danced in the sky this night, it was mesmerising. All my eyes could see were them, then suddenly my gaze turned to Annie, who wasn't looking up at the sky, but was rather looking at me... When our eyes met I saw something I couldn't quite make out to be familiar in them. That beautiful blue colour could make anyone loose they're mind by just looking too deep. Her hand moved to the side of my face, grabbing it gently and pulling me closer. My eyes closed slowly on they're own, abandoning the sight of the blue gaze I wanted to get noticed by so much. My hand wrapped around her neck gently as her hands found they're way to my waist. With the faint sound of the fireworks still behind us our lips were less than an inch apart from eachother. The only sound I could clearly hear right now was the sound of my own heart threatening to jump out of my chest. With one last inch closing the gap between us.

We kissed.
