∆Chapter∆ 13

Annie POV.
I had to do some stupid mission for Hitch so she'll cover for me and Mikasa tomorrow.Having gotten a letter from Reiner the other day, telling me they would be out tomorrow I just couldn't miss the opportunity to capture our target.They will be a a forest know as Forest of giant trees.That could be a little problematic since the tall trees make a perfect place to play with ODM-gear.So we'll have to be extra careful for that.Not to mention Humanity's strongest will be there.Mikasa found the place we were supposed to head to on the map and readied the horses.The next morning at dawn we were out.We covered our faces with hoods and knocked out the guards at the gate.We couldn't afford to make any mistakes and let anyone know we were out.We first headed for the Scouts base.There we stole they're uniforms and capes.We also took ODM-gear and a couple of gas tanks.I also killed the two captured titans.Ready as we could be we headed to our final destination.When we headed from the Scouts base we weren't expecting to see they didn't arrive yet.We came across a small squad from the expedition.I looked at Mikasa and she nodded, she stopped and let me go forward.When there was good distance between us I transformed.I turned to her and couched, opening my mouth.She quickly used the gear and flew right in.I made sure I produced nothing there while she was in.I ran towards the squad.Seeing Eren wasn't there, yes I learned his name because even I got annoyed of the nickname I gave him, I just continued forward.Passing through some more of them I had to stop a couple of times because some were stupid enough to pick a fight.We finally arrived at the forest.I opened my mouth, seeing as no one was around, and let Mikasa go.She went up into the higher branches and followed me, I imagine I was hard to miss.Eventually noticing another squad I followed them.To my surprise Eren was with them.They noticed me but didn't seem to mind at all and just continued to where they were heading.I soon learned why.Some others tried attacking me but I delt with them as I was running.Then I went faster and caught up to the squad.I was just about to launch myself and grab Eren when I heard a very loud "FIRE!".Suddenly hundreds of spears with ropes were fired at me.Traping me.I managed to put a hand on my nape before they went through tho.The squad I was chasing went forward but the person that was at the front came back to me.I recognised him as the Humanity's strongest.He landed on my head and started asking how he should slash me.A shiver went down my spine.This guy was deadass too.I screamed, calling for the titans to come to me.I was suddenly attacked by them.They started biting everywhere.I focused and when they bit on my arm, causing me to release my grip on the nape, I took the opportunity and escaped.It was difficult yes but I didn't graduate in top 10 for nothing.When I escaped I saw someone coming from above.I was about to attack when I caught a little glimpse of red around they're neck.I immediately stopped myself, having recognised that colour anywhere.She came from above and grabbed me on the side.Carrying me up.Once high enough we landed on a tree banch.I let out a breath of relief.She asked if I was okay and I said yeah.
"Listen...if anything goes wrong again I want you to just take Eren and go."I said.
"But-"
"No buts.We can't afford failure when were this close...Give me that map."she did and I pointed at a place.
"This, this is Utgard Castle.If anything goes wrong I want you to take him and go there.As long as I'm informed the Survey Corps still haven't discovered it yet."she was hesitant but eventually nodded.I took a couple more deep breaths before telling her to stay close and taking off.I managed to find them again.They were the Humanity's strongest squad so I couldn't let my guard down.I slashed one guy then transformed again.They did put up quite a fight, working well as a team was obviously quite a problem but I managed to take them down one by one.Just as I killed the last guy Eren decided to transform.It was too big of a deal, it was just like fighting him in the training days.I managed to slash his head off and bit him out.I ran as fast as I could but I could clearly hear someone from behind.I turned around and threw a fist at them only for them to go a around my arm, slashing it deeply, then fly and stab the blades right into my eyes.I could see anything anymore.Who the fuck was this!?They continued to slash me all around my body until I collapsed.By now my vision has restored itself and I could finally see my attacker.My eyes widened as I saw it was none other than Humanity's strongest.I regained myself and quickly put a hand on my nape again.He slashed my arm's weak points until I released.When I did I purposely let my head fall down, reveling my nape.I expected him to go straight for the kill so I could freeze in last second but instead he completely ignored the opportunity and slashed a weak point on my mouth, causing me to release.I guess he didn't calculate property but the force of the impact when he landed on my other arm after slashing my mouth was enough to twist his ankle.He groaned in pain but nonetheless launched straight to grab Eren.Just as he did Mikasa came from the sky and collided her blade with his, pushing him down she took Eren from my mouth and flew away.He tried following her but by now my injuries have mostly healed, except for the month and a little bit of the arm.So I launched at him to prevent him from going after her.He did the same thing as before and while he was busy slashing I quickly got out of the nape and flew as hight as I could.Up there I went in to opposite direction of Mikasa.We already knew where to meet, I just hope she actually listens to me and doesn't come back or something.When I came out of the forest I waited a bit to regain at least some energy back and look at the compass to figure out where the castle was before transforming again.The form of the titan was clearly weaker then before but I couldn't do better right now.It could still run pretty fast which was enough.After some time I was able to find the castle.I stopped when I saw it and let my titan discompose slowly while I used the gear on the titans I passed by so I could get to there.I didn't have much gas left and the sun was pretty much almost set when I arrived there.I ran inside and saw Mikasa was outside tying some horses.She didn't notice me untile I dropped my ODM-gear.She ran to me and I held my arms out smiling.She flew right in and wrapped her legs around my waist, arms went around me neck.I wrapped my arms underneath her for support and she buried her head into my neck.I droped to the ground and moved my arms around her tightly.She cried while I had tears threatening to fall.We stayed like that for a bit before pulling away.She immediately asked if I was okay and I said I was, just a bit tired.We explained how we escaped and she showed me where Eren was.The orange liquid that I put around him had hardened by how so he couldn't escape.
"Now...how do we get back and enter without being noticed?"I asked already too tired to think.Mikasa thought for a moment.
"We leave before dawn and knock out the guards again.Then we go to some place underground."she suggested.There were a few staircases that lead to some dungeon underground so that wouldn't be a problem.When you go down them they all lead to the same dungeon.They were also banned from entering and were guarded by the MP.
"That...seems good enough."I said already collapsing from how tired I was.I felt Mikasa carrying me and placing me down, then laying down with me.That's all I remember before falling asleep.
