I was just thanking you guys for 12k last night, now I'm thanking you for 13😭😍 I love you guys so much.

-Grace's POV-

"What? Why?" I ask into the phone as my heart rate picks up. I walk over to Ashton and start to nudge him with my foot.

"Just come. I'll explain when you get here." She hangs up before I can respond.

I continue to nudge Ashton but he doesn't wake up. I bend down to his ear and start screaming. He jerks awake and I bust out laughing.

"Don't f***ing do that again!" He screams and points his finger in my face.

"Hey! Don't swear!" I yell, causing myself to laugh harder.

Luke comes out of his room, "Why'd you scream?" He looks concerned at first, but notices I'm fine.

"I was waking Ashton up. Go get Michael and Calum. We have to go to the station. Detective Mason just called. She said for me and all of you guys to come down to the station immediately. I don't know what it's about." Luke nods and goes into the kitchen. I sit down on my phone and scroll through twitter. I have over 50 dms from Amelia; I ignore all of them.

"I HAVENT FINISHED MY CHEESE TOASTIE," I hear Michael yell from the kitchen. I roll my eyes and get up.

"Look," I say walking into the kitchen, "Something happened and Detective Mason wants us all there. So, get your butt upstairs and get dressed." I tell Michael. Ashton had went to his room to get dressed after I woke him up, and Calum and Luke are already dressed.

Michael groans but does as he was told and we all pile into the car.

"Hi, I'm Grace Hemmings. Detective Mason called us in here." I tell a lady in a police uniform sitting at a desk. I look at her SPD badge and under that is a name tag, Lark.

"Oh, yes. She told me. Hey, Paul," she calls out to a security guard. He comes out from the hallway he was in, "Could you take these kids to Detective Mason's office?"

"Sure," he says. He leads us down a couple of long corridors, past interrogation rooms and rows of desks, and finally we come to a closed door.

"This is it; knock before you go in." Paul says to us before he walks away.

"Okay, I have no idea what this is going to be about, but it probably won't be good news." I say to the boys and they nod. I take a deep breath before I give three quick raps on the door.

"Come in." Detective Mason calls from the other side of the door. I open the door and walk in, the boys in a line behind me.

"What can we help you with?" I ask as I take a seat in a chair in front of her desk. Luke sits in the only other chair and the rest of the boys stand behind us.

"Well, there has been a, uh, development, in your case." My heart starts racing. Last time she said that, she told me my best friend had been murdered.

I gulp, "Yes?"

"Well, we need to take a small trip." She says and stands up from her mahogany desk. She squeezes past us and we follow her out. We take another trip through corridors and downstairs and end up in a solitary hallway.

"Okay, I know this will be hard for you. Very hard. but we need you to focus. Okay?" She says, only looking at me.

I nod and she continues to walk down the hallway. She enters a cold, concrete room. I shiver and rub my hands up and down on my arms, goosebumps forming.

I see tables covered with white sheets, and my heart pounds against my chest as I realize where we are.

Detective Mason walks quickly to a table in the corner. I start to panic. Why the f*** are we here?

"Okay, this is going to be really hard for you to see, but we have to know. If it is too much, just tell me." I nod and she uncovers the table.

I see a pale, lifeless Makayla.

Oops, another cliffhanger. I said that this wouldn't have too many chapters left, but I was wrong. 😂 I know how I'm going to end it, but I keep finding more and more things I need to put in there. I'll try to end it before it hits 70, and I don't think that will be a problem.

Sorry for all the suspense, love you guys.💕
