-Grace's POV-

"Wh-what are you doing, A-amelia." I stammer, my heart beating out of my chest. My body starts to tingle with the overwhelming feeling of panic.

"Oh, now you can talk to me, huh?" She sounds deranged and looks even crazier.

"Look, I haven't talked to anyone since the start of all of this."

Her face softens completely, like she has forgiven me of everything. "Oh, I understand."

"Are you doing this, Amelia?" She smiles and nods her head like a child. She looks proud. "Why?"

"For you" she says it matter-of-factly, like nothing else in the world makes sense.

"What do you mean?" By now, she has the gun fixed on Luke. He is standing there frozen into silence, terrified. It's up to me to talk her down.

"I took your diary so I could know everyone who hurt you. Then, I hurt them."

As she talks, I slowly move my hand to grab my cell phone out of my pocket. After I get it out, I leave it behind my back. Through memory, I go to my phone and hit the top caller, Detective Mason. At least, I hope it's her.

"But none of those people had done anything to me."

"Yes they did!" She reassures me.

"Could you explain it all to me, then?" I try to get her to confess over the phone. The longer she talks, the longer Detective Mason has to get over here.

"Gabby was stealing Ashton from you."

My jaw drops, "What? Why do you think that?"

"You said it. In your diary. The exact words were 'I don't know how I feel about Gabby and Ashton dating. I'm afraid they might spend all their time together and leave me out.'"

My heart drops. "I did say that, didn't I?"

"Yep! And Makayla and Emilee were mad at you over you not telling them Calum was your boyfriend."

"Yeah, but they got over it. Well, at least Makayla did."

"Oh, did I say Makayla and Emilee? I meant Emilee. The reason I killed Makayla was because the part where you said she always tried to take Gabby away from you, even though you and Gabby had been friends longer."

"I said that like 3 years ago!"

"It still happened. I shot Calum because he cheated on you. I meant to kill him too, but it was too hard of a shot."

"Wait, how did you know about Calum cheating? I didn't have my diary to write in, and we never went public with that."

"I bugged your moms phone." She says it like it's an everyday thing.

"Where did you even get a bug? Or learn how to use one?" I just need to keep her talking a little longer.

"Doesn't matter. And now, for my final kill." She turns her attention back to Luke, and I can see the terror in his eyes. He's still frozen.

"Wait!" I yell, and Amelia turns to me, "What about Ashton? Why did you shoot him? Gabby and him weren't dating yet." I ask the first thing to come to mind.

"Oh, yeah, that was just an unfortunate timing type thing. I meant to steal your diary that time, but Ashton ruined it." She gets a look of disgust on her face, "Should've killed him, too.

"Now, for Luke." She starts walking closer to him, and I can see him start to shake. "You tried to keep Grace away from Calum. That means you tried to keep Grace away from happiness. I don't want my favorite person in the world to be unhappy." She takes the gun off safety. I think fast.

"Well, if you don't want me unhappy, why are you doing all this?" She turns to me again, a questioning look on her face.

"I'm getting revenge for you."

"But, Amelia, do you know how much pain and suffering this has caused me? It's made me unhappy."

She shakes her head, "No, that can't be. I'm helping you, and after I kill Luke, you can be happy for the rest of your life."

She raises the gun. I hear sirens in the distance, but I know they won't get here in time. I just stand there, not being able to do anything as she points a gun at my brother.

I close my eyes. I hear a gun shot, and I fall to my knees in tears.

This is so sad. I don't think I've ever gotten this emotional over something fictional before. A couple more chapters left! There's still a few more plot twists, so hold on for the ride! Love you guys💕
