"speech"'lyrics'*sounds*Thoughts
Regulus and Sirius have been living at James' house for a year now. Regulus has always loved the Potters' garden. It has flowers in all the colours one could imagine. Today, as the sun heats up the little pond, Regulus is walking among them. He cuts, waters, and smells the flowers and just tends to the garden. Suddenly, James comes up behind him and slings an arm around his shoulder. 'Walk in you rainbow paradise!', he sings. Regulus just rolls his eyes. "James it's your garden, not mine. You do know that Potter, don't you?" James grins and mocks: "You do know that Pottah, don't you?" Regulus looks at him and counters: "That, too, is your surname, not mine." James smirks. "It could be..." Regulus has the decency to look appalled at the idea. Even though the wizarding world in general is very accepting, his parents are not. Then again, he hasn't stepped foot inside his parents' house since he ran away with Sirius. He is pulled from his thoughts when James keeps singing: 'I get so lost inside your eyes! Would you believe it?' Regulus just looks at the older boy. "Potter, you keep staring at them so yes. Now, is there any reason why you interrupted my work?" James fakes a hurt look. "Just checking on you Reggie. Imma go to my room." As James leaves, the youngest Black finds himself considering whether he had actually wanted James to leave. He does kind of fancy the older boy. Now that he thought about it, he maybe even loves him. So, he decides to make it his goal today to tell James how he feels about him ones and for all.
James was still in his room when Regulus barged in holding two broomsticks. "Let's go fly a bit!", he yells and throws one of the brooms at James. James catches it and yelps: "Race you to the pitch!" The two boys race down the stairs and towards the disillusioned patch of grass that makes up the pitch. Regulus hops on his broom first and is off soaring through the sky. James looks up at the small boy lovingly. He is smitten, and he knows. They fly around for some time, mindlessly chasing each other and flying through the hoops that make up the goalposts. Eventually, they bring their brooms into a steady flight and just fly a few laps in perfect sync. James levels his broom opposite Regulus' broom and smiles. "Reggie, I know you might not feel the same, and I hope it won't ruin our friendship but, I love you." Regulus looked utterly shocked for a few seconds. Before he could respond James was already talking again. 'You don't have to say you love me. You don't have to say nothing. You don't have to say you're mine.', he continues. "Uh, James, I...", Regulus begins before James continues. 'You don't have to say you love me. I just wanna tell you somethin'. Lately you've been on my mind' Regulus desperately tries to interrupt James. He waves his arms, tries to talk louder, but James is totally trapped in his own little world of rejection. So, in true Slytherin fashion, the youngest Black call upon his cunning mind to devise a plan. He starts leaning forward on his broom making sure not to jolt into a steady forward flight. He carefully eyes the Potter heir, still looking ashamed. Regulus gently kisses the James' lips. James' eyes snap open but he doesn't back away. It takes him a bit but after he regains his composure a slight bit, he leans in. The kiss deepens until the slight jolt of their brooms remind them they're still floating three metre over the ground. They pull back and land quickly. Leaving the broomsticks behind, James firmly clutches Regulus' hand and pulls him towards the garden the younger boy tended to this morning. They lay down between the flowers and look up at the sky. Regulus looks absolutely enamoured until James puts his face in front of the other boy's. Regulus rolls his eyes. "I was looking at the view.", Regulus complains. "I am the view honey", a smug James replies. Regulus grabs the back of his neck and pulls him into a kiss. James starts softly nibbling at the younger boy's bottom lip eliciting a soft moan from him. Regulus pulls back slightly and tilts his head to the side looking thoroughly embarrassed. A deep red blush is tinting his pale cheeks. James put a finger under his chin and turns his head so they are looking into each other's eyes. Staring into the silver of Regulus' eyes James hums: "Just let me adore you. Like it's the only thing I'll ever do.'
