Regulus Black looked up at the sign clearly stating Hogwarts High. It had been a long time since he'd graduated from this place. He did not miss it. At least not the time spent there. Except, of course, the black haired jock who had been his closest 'friend'. He wondered whether the guy would be at the reunion.
When Regulus first started high school, he had been placed a year above due to the extensive knowledge he acquired when being homeschooled. It had turned out even harder to make friends among the older students. Still, he had grown inseparable with a certain Potter. All of this happened without his brother ever suspecting a thing. Regulus wondered how James was faring these days. He hadn't exactly kept a close watch over the guy past graduation. Neither had seeked out the other.

James Potter pushed open the doors to his old high school. He took his phone out of his pocket and snapped a quick picture of the decorated entrance. Navigating to Instagram, he posted a story with the caption 'How time flies'. In a matter of seconds the young celebrity received multiple likes and reactions. Sirius texted him, saying he was on his way. Remus told him he'd be late. James scrolled through the replies, desperately searching for the other Black, before almost hitting himself. Regulus hadn't contacted him in ten years.
He tucked his phone into his pocket and made his way into the sportshall. Several tables had been set up facing a stage. James looked for the table in the corner that Marlene had told him was reserved for the marauders. He glanced at his watch. He was merely 5 minutes early but only very few people had already arrived. James took his phone and messaged Lily.
JP: Hey Lils! I'm at the school. How are Harry and Clara doing?
LP: Harry and Draco are out for the weekend. Clara and me are on our way. We'll be there in about 10 minutes.
JP: Great! The decorations are amazing.
LP: Glad you like them.
JP: Wait, you're on your way? Stop texting while driving!
LP: James, Remus is driving.
JP: Oh, ok. Cya
LP:...
James laughed at the idea of his wife's reaction to the abbreviation. She hated texting slang with a passion. He scanned the room for any familiar faces when his eyes fell on Frank and Alice Longbottom. Alice was sitting in her wheelchair staring into space, while Frank sat next to her, clutching her hand. James remembered that they had gotten into an accident several years back. Frank had escaped unscathed but Alice had suffered severe brain injury. He made his way over to the couple.
"Frank, Alice! Nice to see you!"
Frank gave him a nod and a tight smile.
"How is Neville these days?" he asked, trying to make conversation.
"Good. He has been choosing UNIs recently. He's all grown up now. They grow up so fast," stated Frank.
James nodded. "So is Harry. He's staying with us for the summer though."
The two men enjoyed a moment of contemplative silence before James excused himself and went back to his table. He remembered that he'd forgotten to ask the Lupin-Black's whether they were bringing Gabrielle, their six-year old daughter. He took out his phone and texted Sirius.
JP: Hey dawg! Yall bringin Gabbie?
SLB: Hey man, yeh
SLB: She's so excited!
