Chapter 6: Meanwhile...

"What!?" exclaimed the Owl Lady. "They were thrown into the portal and Luz jumped after them!" said a scared little demon for the second time. Eda sat down. "And you're sure that Belos shut it down?" asked Lilith. "Positive," replied King, "It was too unstable."
The portal was unstable. King looked around him for a way out. He saw the Golden Guard go into the portal and then Belos shut it down. King then saw his way out. He scurried over to an opening in the wall and squeezed through. He then hopped on a wagon and rode most of the way to the owl house. He then ran the rest of the way, as fast as his little paws would carry him.
"Then there's a chance it could've killed them," said Eda solemnly. "Yeah.." said King. "Let us not give up hope," said Lilith, "We must have faith in the human and her friends. If they're alive then they'll find a way back here." "Lily's right," said Eda, "But we should try to do what we can from here."
"But what can we do?" asked King, "Emperor Belos is the only one who has access to the portal!" "I have an idea!" shouted Hooty as the door swung open.
"Not now Hootsifer," said Lilith, "This is really important." "But-" started Hooty before getting interrupted by Eda. "Hooty we have to come up with a solid plan," said Eda, "We don't have time for this." "But guys!" exclaimed Hooty. "Shut up Hooty!" exclaimed King. "GUYS!" Hooty screamed. "What!?" everyone shouted in unison.  "What if we find out how Belos reconstructed the portal and do the same thing?" suggested Hooty. "That's..." said Eda, "Not actually a bad idea!" "What!?" questioned literally everyone, including Hooty. "You all heard me," said Eda, "Hooty came up with a good plan." "I thought that was impossible!" exclaimed Hooty. "So how do we obtain this knowledge?" asked Lilith. "Lily!" exclaimed Eda, "The scrying potion!" "I can play back what it has seen!" said Lilith. They then ran to the potion. Lilith rewound the potion to a few weeks ago.
"Is it almost complete?" asked the Golden Guard. "Yes," replied Belos, "It is nearly there."
"Next!" said Eda. Lilith then rewound it to a few months ago.
"Our method is working, Kikimora," said Belos, "When this portal is finished, all will be ready for the day of unity." "Sire?" asked Kiki, "If you don't mind me asking, what is the day of unity?" "I suppose you should know," sighed Belos, "The day of unity is-"
"Next!" shouted Eda as she rewound it herself. She sent it back to 4 years ago.
"Sire!" exclaimed Golden Guard as he ran into the throne room, "I have found a method." "Have you?" asked Belos, "Bring it forth." "It's in this old diary that was in the forbidden section in the library," said Golden Guard, "It has all the instructions laid out on the pages." "Good work my boy," said Belos. He then started reading the steps out loud.
"Write it down!" yelled Eda. Lilith started writing down what Belos was saying. Finally after about an hour's worth of writing, Lilith got it all down. "Now we have a way to bring Luz back home to us!" exclaimed King, "And her friends I guess." Lilith then set down the journal she wrote the stuff in. "Then we better get to work," she said. "Hoot~" said Hooty as he wiggled his body. "You ruined it Hooty!" shouted King.
