"CHEERS!" CAME THE voices of the boys, followed by the clink of their wine glasses.

"To another successful concert," said a tipsy Jin.

Hoseok drank to that, along with the rest of his friends, the alcohol aiding in forgetting how sore his body was.

Taehyung straightened his posture, his eyes wild with intoxication. "Let's play a game! Spin the bottle! Truth or dare style."

The guys groaned in protest.

"Oh come on! It'll be fun!" And without waiting for anyone else's consent, Taehyung laid out a soju bottle in the middle and spun it.

When it hit Namjoon, he caved. "All right. Dare."

The guys let out a chorus of "oohs".

Taehyung wiggled in his seat. "Okay, I dare you to French kiss Jin-hyung for twenty seconds straight!"

Hoseok knew Namjoon not to be the P.D.A type. In fact, he was embarrassed to show Jin any affection in front of the guys at first. It wasn't until several months into their relationship that Namjoon initiated any type of hand holding and a rare kiss on the cheek. Even drunk Hoseok knew he would probably feel too uncomfortable. However, before he could protest, Jin grabbed his face and tongued him as if his life depended on it. Hoseok, along with everyone else, went wild in cheers and laughter. Namjoon flailing his arms and trying to kiss back was the funniest part of all.

"Time!" yelled Taehyung.

Jin pulled away aggressively and smiled to everyone. Namjoon, on the other hand, looked like he could've been a cartoon character with birds flying around his head.

"I'll take Namjoon's turn due to his current state," Jin happily volunteered before spinning the bottle.

Hoseok braced himself when the tip pointed to him. "I pick dare, too."

Jin pursed his lips. "I dare you to slap the member that looks the most handsome right now."

Hoseok, though an odd request, didn't have to consider which one for long before walking over to Yoongi and striking him across the face. His ex-boyfriend blinked in surprise. Hoseok proudly went back to his seat and leaned back in his chair. The other members chuckled awkwardly, sober enough to understand the underlining resentment from the past, but too drunk to take it seriously.

A few more rounds went by, and more silly dares were enacted along with spilled truths. However, with all the excessive consumption of alcohol, it was bound to become ugly.

When the bottle landed on Yoongi, Jin had prompted the question of the worst mistake he'd ever made.

Yoongi pursed his lips in thought, squinting his eyes as he pondered on the question. "I think my biggest mistake was pushing away Hoseok. And Geongmin. And Jimin."

Upon hearing this, Jimin bit his lip.

Hoseok reluctantly revisited their fight when they were on the verge of ending their relationship. Yoongi had gotten drunk one night and talked down to Hoseok, to which he fired back. By that time he had put up with a lot of emotional abuse from Yoongi and was already entertaining the thought of leaving. He recalled just a week earlier before that fight when he confided in Jimin.

"That's how I left him, too," he had said. "It's a thing he does. Our last fight was him basically calling me a man slut because of a stupid photo shoot. It was then that I realized this relationship was toxic. I really hoped with you he'd be different. But I see he's still the same."

"I love him," Hoseok confessed. "And he's hurting in ways I don't know how to help with."

Jimin shook his head. "It's not your job to help someone who doesn't want to be helped. I know you may want to think you can change him. That if you stick with him long enough you can help him see what's right in front of him. I thought that once, too. But that is not reality. Me, nor Geongmin, nor you can change that. What I learned about Yoongi is that he attracts people who like to fix things. But he doesn't want to be fixed. He just wants distractions. And that's all you are. A distraction."

Hoseok recalls that exact pain in his heart after hearing those words. He felt his spirit, his hope, and his heart shatter. He didn't want to believe it, but for the next week up until that point those words had stuck with him. And every day after that conversation he never once forgot those words.

Coming out of his thoughts and feeling the effects of the alcohol, he demanded, "So why do you keep repeating the same mistakes?"

Suddenly the empty hotel dining room seemed as if it became bigger with Yoongi's intense gaze at him, and he involuntarily shrunk back in his seat.

"I don't know," Yoongi said flatly.

Hoseok felt angry at this response and straightened up, broadening his shoulders. Though their breakup was a little less than a year ago, his intense emotions still felt very raw and new. "You don't know?" When Yoongi remained silent, his heart sped up. "Yoongi, you don't know? Oh, right. Well I suppose you wouldn't considering the fact that you wouldn't get therapy or go to couple's counseling. And whenever I wanted you to show just a tad bit of vulnerability with me, you shut down. So, yeah, I guess you wouldn't know."

The rest of the members were as still as stone and silent like mice.

Yoongi picked up his wine glass and swirled it around in his palm, as if he was trying to look for anything suspicious in it. "I don't know what you want me to say. A question was asked and I answered. I can't take back what I did."

Perhaps it was the alcohol that dulled Hoseok's senses. Maybe it was his built up resentment. But without much thought after, Hoseok stood up, reached across the table, snatched Yoongi's wine, and through the red liquid all over him. "A sorry would be a fine start Yoongi!"

For a split second it felt right. He felt justified. But after the gasps and open jaws came as a reaction, Hoseok felt a small reluctant guilt. With instant regret, he quickly walked away, muttering something along the lines of going to bed.
