The overpowering scent of waffles surrounds Jade's apartment, she opens a window for air and the rush of matchday traffic enters her home. She stares at her transparent reflection in the window and is interrupted by the buzz of her phone.

Declan *on mobile: 'Are you ready Jay?' Her mind wanders at the thought of what plans she could possibly have today... 'Uh.. Hello?' Declan repeats abruptly. Jade replies in a confused manor, 'What are we doing?'. 'It's matchday you idiot, the big one, Chelsea v Westham? Please tell me you haven't forgotten, I'm nearly there!' Declan exclaims. 'Oh my god, I did, i'm sorry, i will be ready though. Bye!' Jade rushes off the phone and throws on some grey sweats and a T-Shirt, time slips around the clock on her wall so she wears a messy bun and manifests no one sees her today.

Declan's four wheel drive pulls up to London Stadium, his car is directed into the players entrance and they head towards the tunnel. The Rice siblings part and Jade heads to the seats near the tunnel, she slumps back into her seat and pulls up her hood which engulfs her head and face, hiding her messy hair and bare skin.

90 minutes pass and Declan's team beat Chelsea 3-2, Jade glances towards the tunnel where she's headed and sees her brother teasing and laughing with some of the Chelsea teammates, a slight smile brushes over her face as Declan turns around and catches her. 'Oi, what you smiling at?' he says jokingly. 'You idiots' smirked Jade. A voice raises from behind the doors of the changing room. 'She's a feisty one, Dec' he says opening the door laughing, looking Jade up and down.

Jade's expression drops and she scowls at the boy stood in front of her, she recognizes his face and kit. 'How does the loss feel' *she makes a fake sad face and pulls her brother to leave. 'Hang on' says Declan, 'Mason has invited me to his for a few games of FIFA and drinks, so you can either come with us or get an uber'. Jade rolls her eyes at the boys 'Fine.' she says bluntly as they begin their journey over to Mount's house. All she could think about was how awful she looked meeting Mason.

She follows the boys in the direction of Masons large home, the doors widen and invite her inside, she's welcomed with the smell of warmth and aftershave. Declan is familiar with his friends home so he makes himself comfortable in the living space. Jade stands aimlessly and awaits for silence to break. Mason tells her to turn around as he proceeds to remove her coat and put it in the cloakroom. He grabs onto Jade's waist and brushes past her. Her breathing thickens for a split second and a weird feeling courses through her veins. 'Where's the bathroom' Jade mutters to Mason. 'Just to your left darlin' he says with a flirty smirk.

Jade enters the marble polished bathroom and takes a deep breath in the mirror. She feels confused at Mason's actions, but maybe shes overthinking. Is it flirting or is he just being sweet?

Jade exits the bathroom nervously and follows the noise of Declan and Mason battling on FIFA. She appears in the door way of the kitchen only to see a girl lay on Mason's lap, weirdly a feeling of envy rushes through Jade's body. Jade awkwardly sits down and she can't help but glance over at them. The pretty girl sits up from his lap and comes over to Jade, 'Hi, i'm Sophie, Mason's girlfriend.' says the pretty girl. Jade bluntly greets her back. The boys look at each other as a cue to break the tension between the two girls. 'So what we having for dinner then, guys?' said Mason. Jade stands up 'I'm going to get an uber home, i'm not in the mood for this, but for having me Mase' *she says whilst sarcastically smirking at Sophie. Everyone says bye apart from Sophie, who had jealousy written across her face. Jade calls an uber to take her home.

Whilst in the uber, Jade procrastinates. So she calls her bestfriend Ava to update her on what happened tonight, and to make sure she wasn't going totally crazy. Ava tells her to go home and sleep on it, Jade thinks the thoughts of Mason will be gone by tomorrow anyway.
