It was a few moths later and the news had gotten around to basically everyone about Melanie's shock pregnancy. Mason was especially excited at being 'uncle mase' and Jade was excited to be the 'auntie' even if she wasn't officially Mason's other half.

This afternoon, it would be baby rice's gender reveal, and Jade was busy getting ready whilst Mason was sat downstairs waiting for her. He became frustrated because of the amount of time she had spent doing her hair and makeup and picking out an outfit.

'Come on Jade! What the fuck are you doing up there?' Called Mason's voice from the living room. He was left without a response as she was busy curling loose bits of her hair that was in an up-do.

Jade had finally came downstairs and it was time for the pair to both leave. 'Is that what took you so long?' Said Mason, gesturing at the girls outfit and hair.

'Just because I want to look nice?' Replied Jade with a huff.

'Just don't know who you're trying to impress at a baby shower'

'Okay mr insecure. I'm not trying to impress anyone, I just want to look nice.' She argued back, opening the door and touching her heels down on the driveway. The pair both got into the car and drove to Declan's house, the mood being slightly off with the couple due to their little domestic.

Melanie and Declan had really gone the extra mile for this, the whole house and garden was filled with blue and pink decorations. There was a goal set up which Declan would shoot at, and if he hit the target either blue or pink powder would burst into the air. This was basically every footballers gender reveal, but them being future parents made it 100 times more original.

Mason's parents were also here, and it was the first time I had gotten to spend time with them in forever. They were the most supportive of our relationship and it just made me want to give the boy so much more love. Despite Jade and Mason's little argument earlier, nothing could really change my close bond with his parents. After being interrupted out of my chat with Debbie by the tap of a champagne glass, I looked up and saw my boyfriend stood waiting to give a speech.

'I just want to say a few words' he began, 'so, to my bestfriend of 16 years. How the fuck are you having a kid before me? We always said you'd only end up with one if you got lucky, and I guess you did. But I know that this baby is going to have the funniest parents and of course uncle anyone could ever ask for, and I'm so excited for baby rice to see the world. I wanna use this speech to just thank you, both of you for helping me with my ups and downs, helping me find the love of my life and I hope to help you caress your baby with love also. Thank you.' He said, wiping his left eye from a stray tear, Declan and I both doing the same.

The fact he mentioned me in his speech as 'the love of my life' made me forgive his bitchiness from earlier, how could I remain so mad at him?

My family left to go home as they didn't live too far, but Mason's parents weren't prepared to take on a 5 hour drive back to Portsmouth, so they stayed with us for the first time in our new home.

'You've done well here son.' Tony, his dad said as he walked into the hallway of our house.

'It's beautiful!' Debbie also agreed, as I offered to show them both where they would stay for the night.

'And this is one of the guest rooms, you can stay in either one you like.' There were four guest rooms in our house, 3 with beds and one which I used as mine and Mason's wardrobe/ storage area.

I showed his mom to my wardrobe area.

'Will this be the nursery?' She asked, as it was the bigger out of the other 4 guest rooms. I gulped and took a deep breath as me and Mason had never spoken about having children after the incident that happened a while ago. Nobody knew apart from me, him and Ava about that and I didn't intend for anyone else to be involved.

'Maybe, yeah. We haven't really spoken about having kids.' I told her.

'You should! You'd have the most beautiful babies and I'd love to be another nan.' She laughed to me as we walked through to the room she had picked for her and Tony.

'I think he's ready for one, I'm just not sure about it, I want to wait.' I spoke, as Mason heard our conversation whilst he was bringing his parents' bags into the room.

'Hi love!' Debbie exclaimed, I assume trying to take away the fact we were just talking about him. 'I'll leave you to it' she smiled, leaving the room awkwardly.

'You want to wait? For what, someone better?' He spat, making me jump on the defensive.

'Don't start Mason, you know why I've been off about having kids.' I responded. I have been worried about ever having children since I once fitted out on the bathroom floor, Mason found me and i think it scared him because of what happened when I overdosed, he thought I'd had a relapse. I soon after went to the doctors and was diagnosed with epilepsy, it didn't affect me much but it was always something right in the back of my mind, that would always leave a 'but' or 'what if'. Again, no one knew about this but the pair of us. We were obviously quite good at keeping things private.

'I know, I know.' He said with a sigh, pulling me into a hug. 'If it happens, it happens, yeah?'

'Yeah.' I spoke softly, cuddling more into his chest. 'Let's go get some food.' I said, as we both headed downstairs to where his parents were sat, looking at the Chinese menu online. I guess that's what we're having for dinner.
