Jade inhaled the sweet scent of fresh leather interior from the new car parked outside of her apartment. It was ribboned, with a note, and a key, it read: 'merry early Christmas xx'. With no sender. She ran her finger across the dashboard of the car to see if she was in some sort of dream. Who would give her such a gift?

She unlocked the newly plated car and sat inside, she gripped the steering wheel with two hands, mimicking a race setting. She touched the large screen in the centre of the dashboard and put on some music. Coincidentally, the first song that came on was her and Mason's. Jade thinks: *surely not... he wouldn't have*. Her phone pings and startles her out of a daydream, the text was from Mason, it read: 'can I come and see your new car (;'. Jade's face lit up with an endearing grin.

Jade knew she couldn't see Mason today, her parents were coming over to stay at Declan's for Christmas, it's the first time they had seen eachother in weeks, so she was of course excited about it. Jade told Mason to come over, but to make it quick - she had to thank him for his confound gift and couldn't not see him.

Mason pulled into the car park of Jade's apartment complex. He stays in his car with two hands gripped onto the steering wheel, he stares at her whilst she's not looking and finds himself with a smile reaching from ear to ear; he cannot comprehend this feeling that he has towards Jade, it's so unlike Mason to feel this way about a girl, let alone his best friends sister.

Eventually he walks over to her car, opens the door and says: 'let me take a picture of you'. Jade poses, even though she didn't need to, and Mason takes a picture for her Instagram. He leans over, placing his two arms in-front of her, his muscles bulged out from his nike sweater, he pecks her slowly on the forehead. He pulls away and catches eye contact with her, she then grabs his neck and pulls him for another kiss, on the lips this time. He kneels upon the seat and takes control of the kiss, Jade liked that and he knew it. He carried on for a few short seconds, then grabbed her hand and whispered 'let's take this inside'. Jade nodded, but continued to forcefully kiss him on the way out of the car. Two familiar voices emerged from the car park, Jade and Mason push off each-other in a split second.

'Mum? Dad?' Said Jade, slightly losing her breath, 'when did you get here?' She continued. 'Nice to see you too' laughed Sean, her dad, Jade completely forgot the plans to meet at her apartment, she got too caught up with Mason - which wasn't such a bad thing.

They all went inside and Mason made everyone drinks, something about that just turned Jade on completely. How he was so kind and caring to her family, she knew it wouldn't be an issue if they ever became official. Jade's parents love Mason because of Declan, they were childhood friends since they were 6, therefore, being Declan's younger sister meant that Mason was out of Jade's league.. so they all thought, but feelings can be surreal sometimes.

The thought pondered through Jade's head whether her parents saw Mason and her kissing, she couldn't deny that it feels wrong to do this behind Declan's back, would he be okay with this, or could it tear both Mason and Jade's relationships to him apart?
Later on, Jade's parents leave her apartment a little earlier to head to Declan's house, where she would meet them there. 'Should we tell Declan soon, about this?' Jade asked Mason, 'about what?' He replied, with a slight giggle. 'About us? I think he deserves to know since you're bestfrien-'. 'Us? What do you mean us? We aren't dating, and no one needs to know. It's just for fun right?' Replied Mason, cutting off Jade in a nervous tone. 'So this means nothing to you? Just fun is that it? What about the car, the dinner, everything else? You're just going to treat me like a princess and say that it all meant nothing? I can't believe this, after everything that happened with Jesse, how you were so protective.. bullshit!' She replies.
'Don't bring Jesse up and money is nothing to me, it's just a car you shouldn't deep it.' Replied Mason, slightly raising his voice. 'Awh have I touched a nerve there? And "just a car?" you're so mature, really throwing money at me expecting me to stay around.' Said Jade sarcastically. Mason looks her up and down and walks out of the apartment apprehensively- it was as if he didn't want to go, nor stay, he didn't know where to belong at that very moment.
