The Alchemy Professor | Severus Snape

Chapter 2

Reader's P.O.V :

The rest of the week, I was just avoiding him. Well, we were sitting next to each other during the meals. ( Severus always sits on my right )

However, today is the big day. Students are coming and tomorrow classes start. I am not really looking forward to this but anyway...

Do I have any choice ?

I leave my quarters which are located in the Dungeons next to Severus'. Dumbledore said when we both came here to teach that we know each other for many years and so we will feel more welcome.

I don't feel more welcome.

I go to the potions classroom searching for Severus. It will be better to go with him. Dumbledore will see us and maybe thinks that there is no need to force me being present at Severus' lesson and revoke his decision.

Who am I kidding ? He will never do this...

A voice brings me back to reality. " What do YOU want here ? "

I feel his presense behind me. I slowly turn and look up. He is higher than me. Nearly 5".

" You. " I answer. My eyes widen realizing what I just said. " I mean... I was searching for you to go together to the Great Hall. " I correct myself.

However, this three-lettered word shocked him too.

He coughed to hide it and nodded after hearing my correction. " Very well. Let's go. "

Severus' P.O.V :

We walk towards the Great Hall together. But my mind is elsewhere.

I am confused. I don't know what I felt when I heard it... " You " her voice plays again and again in my mind.

I felt a weird happiness ? No, it wasn't happiness... Relief ? Maybe...

I hear a gasp. I turn my gaze to her; only to see her looking at the ground shocked. 

I follow her gaze and notice a rat running away.

" Oh please don't tell me that you are afraid of this little rat ? " I ask her with disbelief.

" No-no, it was just... this rat was different... " 

I roll my eyes in annoyance. " All of them are the same thing. " I retort. 

She shakes her head. " It looked like... Peter... "

" Don't be ridiculous. Peter is dead. Your ex killed him. " I tell her. In our 6th year Y/N started dating with black, they were together until the end of our 7th year during which, Y/N caught him raping her best friend, Katie Jordan ( I had to ... ok ? She added me in her stories too ), a Slytherin in the same year with us. After this, Y/N stopped speaking with him and only interacted with the rest of the 'gang'.

Y/N sighs. " You are right. You are right. It was just... for a moment I thought that ... he was alive... " 

I motion to the still shocked by the encounter colleague of mine to continue our way. She receives the message and we continue our way.

We reach our destination and sit on our seats.
