Severus' P.O.V :

I rush to the door.

" Wait. Severus. Look. " Katie's voice stops me.

" What is it ? " I ask her.

" Y/N. She isn't moving. She just stands there. Like. Like she is frozen to the spot or unable to move. " Katie answers with tears ready to fall.

My heart ceases beating.

My mind screams a sentence. The sentence. One of the last things that I ever wanted to happened.

She is petrified ( or dead but that's not the case )

My face looses each color and my blood runs cold through my veins.

Katie starts crying thinking of her best friend's state.

" Close your map, let's go to escort her to Poppy. " I tell her. My voice colder than the usual. 

Poor Gryffindors, without Y/N, I gonna turn their lives into living hells.

Katie nods; tears shedding down her cheeks non stop.

We leave her office and storm towards the bathroom.

Students glancing at us weirdly. 

" Severus. Katie. What's going on ? " Minerva shouts.

I freeze. I want to speak to no one except Y/N and Katie. ( let's say that they became a trio, the professors trio )

" Me and Katie believe that Y/N is petrified. " I reply with all of the venom in the world. 

McGonagall's eyes widen. Gasps are heard by the students nearby.

" But. But she had almost her potion ready to unpetrify ( does this word exist ? ) the students. This can't be happening. " Minerva notices.

Fury. This is exactly what I feel right now.

Katie's cries escalate; she wraps her hands around mine and rests her face on my arm.

" Y/N was petrified and the only thing that you care about are your students ? Or should I say Gryffindors ? Well, you know something if you go closer to her than 2 meters while she is like this, you gonna pay for this little cat. " I snap at her.

Minerva does a step behind.

I peek at her with pure hatred for a moment before continuing my way.

I walk until I see her.

Her body frozen.

Her face still.

My heart dead.

Katie runs and hugs her petrified friend.

Suddenly, everything looses his color.

I can see only back and gray.

Happiness ? What's the meaning of this word ?

My whole world is destroyed.

She is petrified.

I am dead.

Where's the difference ?

I go closer to the two friends and gently caress Y/N's cheek.

It's cold.

I am cold.

It's lifeless.

I am more lifeless than ghosts.

Katie pulls away to give me space.

I nod to her acknowledging her action and silently thanking her.

I kiss her perfect lips.

My heart slowly breaks into tiny pieces knowing that she won't kiss me back.

No that she has any choice.

I don't even know if she can see what's happening or not.

If she wants to tell us that she is fine.

She is dead outside unable to do anything.

I am dead inside able to do everything.

« I wasn't sleeping well before.

Now I'm not sure I will at all. »
