Hermione Granger was looking at herself in the mirror. She tied her Gryffindor tie, grabbed her bag, and ran out of the girls dorms to Potions class.
Hermione made it to the Potions classroom with minutes to spare. She sat down next to Harry, as always.
Hermione was just getting her potions book out when Malfoy came running in looking like a hot mess. His hair was messy and everywhere, his robes were hanging off his shoulders, his bag was half way open, and his tie was untied.
The teacher wasn't in the classroom but Draco knew that Professor Slughorn was super strict about the dress code, and Draco didn't know how to tie his tie. Even after six years he still didn't know how to tie his own damn House tie. Pansy and Blaise have been helping him since forever. He never really took the time to learn how to tie his Slytherin tie.
"Pansy, why did you leave me this morning? My tie!" Draco asked.
"Ask someone else!" Pansy whisper-yelled.
Everyone in the classroom looked from Draco to Hermione. Hermione didn't notice anything, she was too busy with her nose in a book, as usual. Draco was confused as ever.
"How about you help Malfoy tie his tie, Hermione?" Harry asked.
"What? Why me?" Hermione exclaimed.
"Because . . . why not?" Harry said.
Hermione rolled her eyes but got up, yanked Malfoy by the arm, and pulled him into the middle of the classroom to give them more space to move her arms to tie Malfoy's tie.
Hermione didn't know that that was a huge mistake. When she looked up to meet Malfoy's eyes and say something snarky, Pansy and Harry pushed Hermione and Malfoy together, causing their lips to collide.
They didn't pull away for a few seconds but after they did, Hermione couldn't speak. She was in shock but she quickly finished tying Malfoy's tie and sat down in her seat with her cheeks flaming red.
During the middle of their class, Malfoy quickly ripped a piece of paper, dipped his quill in ink, and started scribbling something on the paper. He folded it into a paper swan and blew on it, making it fly over to Hermione.
Hermione looked up just in time to see the paper flying her way and caught it. She opened the paper and started reading.
Hermione,
I'm so sorry for what just happened. Our friends must have been planning it. But I had nothing to do with it. I have something I need to talk to you about. WIll you meet me at the astronomy tower after class?
D.M
Hermione quickly took paper from her notebook and wrote her answer.
Draco,
I kind of figured you had no knowledge of what was going to happen. When we pulled away, I saw the shock on your face. I'll see you after class.
Hermione
Hermione folded it into a dragon and blew it back over to Draco. Harry was reading over her shoulder and whispering what she wrote to Ginny.
Hermione didn't know that the whole school shipped her and Draco together. The whole school had tried (and failed many times) to get them together, but now they think this plan might finally work. They expected them to lock eyes during Hermione tying his tie and for them to kiss longer, maybe even laugh about it after and for Draco to ask Hermione to be his girlfriend, but no. That clearly didn't happen.
However, it was working even better and the plan was still in motion.
After class, Hermione quickly ran to the tower to avoid her friend's questions. She made it to the tower and, luckily, Draco wasn't there, so she had time to spare. She quickly smoothed down her hair and added a hint of lip balm to her lips before she pulled out a book and started to read to pass time before Draco got there.
A few minutes later, Draco came running up the stairs, stumbling and tripping over his own feet from excitement. He finally got to the top to see Hermione reading a book. He snuck over to her and surprised her by running his fingers through her soft locks of hair. Hermione jumped up to see Malfoy wearing a smile.
"You scared me!" Hermione shrieked.
Draco just laughed at her. "So did you enjoy kissing me?" Draco asked, cocking his head to the side with a lingering smile.
"I suppose I did." Hermione said with a shrug of her shoulders.
"I enjoyed it, too." Draco admitted.
Hermione smiled as Draco started to lean in. Hermione pushed herself a bit farther to close the distance between her and Draco.
Draco kissed Hermione with passion and gentleness. He ran his fingers through her hair, tangling his fingers in her soft, bushy hair. Hermione wrapped her arms around Draco's neck, pulling a bit to pull him closer to her. Draco moved his hands from her hair to her face and cupped her face.
Slowly, after what it felt like days of kissing, they both pulled away. Hermione had a smile on her face and Draco's face was bright red.
"Fucking Merlin, yes! Dramione has sailed!" Ginny yelled, pumping her fists in the air. Hermione and Draco both jumped but laughed at how happy and excited Ginny was. Blaise, Pansy, and Harry came into view.
"Shush, Ginny! Malfoy hasn't even asked Hermione to be his girlfriend!" Harry told her.
Draco looked at Hermione. "Do you want to be my girlfriend?" Draco asked.
"How could I say no. Absolutely!" Hermione said, kissing him.
"Now, dramione has officially sailed!" Pansy yelled, louder than Ginny.
"You hurt her Malfoy, and you're dead." Harry told him.
"I would never hurt her." Draco promised him.
Hermione smiled at him and gave him another sweet, lingering kiss before skipping away and looping her arm through Ginny's to tell her what happened.
Harry patted Draco on the shoulder, before following the girls.
"Well, that took only forever," Blaise joked.
Draco punched his arm. "Shut up."
