My Hate Is Love

"I was fifteen years old when I realized that I didn't hate Draco Malfoy. I had loved him from the beginning."

Hermione Granger pressed her head against the cool glass of the Hogwarts Express window.

Another year of Hogwarts, another year of torment from the one she loved so dearly from her first year.

She was deeply in love with Draco Malfoy. But they could never be together. He was pureblood, she was a mudblood. He was a Slytherin, she was a Gryffindor. His family hated people like her, and so did he. The list of reasons why they could never be together was endless.

"I'm going to get a glass of water. Any of you want anything?" Hermione stands up.

"No," Harry says at the same time as Ginny.

"Yeah, I want a glass of water, too," Ron tells her. 

Hermione nods and walks out of the compartment. She made it to the kitchen and quickly grabbed two glasses of water.

The door slide open, and of all the people that could've walked into the kitchen, it had to be Draco Malfoy.

"Granger," he says, nodding at her.

What happened to mudblood? Hermione thought.

Hermione stared at Draco, dumbfounded.

"Something wrong?" Draco asked her, raising an eyebrow.

Hermione blushed and looked down at her water. "No, nothing's wrong."

She suddenly felt like she couldn't breathe. She walked out of the kitchen and took a deep breath.

Why did she freak out so much when she was around Draco Malfoy? He was nothing to her. Well, that's the thing. He wasn't nothing to her. She loved him. However, she was nothing to Draco Malfoy. That was something she knew.

They finally arrived at Hogwarts.

"Quiet, quiet." Dumbledore says, raising his hands.

"I have a few announcements. We have a few changes for the sixth and seventh years this year. This year, you will be sharing a dorm with someone from a different house."

Everyone groaned.

"You will still be going to class with your house, but you will be spending the rest of the time with your dorm mate. The list is posted outside of your common rooms. For today, you will be bonding and getting to know your new dorm mate. Now, pip pip!" Dumbledore finished.

Hermione, Ginny, Ron, and Harry all wandered up to the Gryffindor common room to look at the list.

Harry Potter and Pansy Parkinson
Ron Weasley and Blaise Zabini
Hermione Granger and Draco Malfoy
Ginny Weasley and Luna Lovegood

And the list goes on.

"There is no way I'm sharing a dorm with Draco Malfoy." Hermione said, her heart beginning to race with thoughts of what could happen.

"Ron and Harry's are pretty bad, but yours is the worst, Hermione." Ginny said to her.

Hermione rolled her eyes. "Wow, thanks, Gin. That's really going to help me."

Ginny patted Hermione's shoulder. "Now's your chance."

Ginny smirked and walked away to find her dorm.

"She's going to kill me!" Harry complained.

Hermione flicked Harry on the forehead. "Dude, you literally survived Voldemort so many times. I think you can handle Pugface."
