The school day was nearing its end, and Aurora had succeeded in her attempts to ignore the twins for the whole day. All she had to do was keep up her ignoring for two more classes; Potions and Divination.
She relaxed as she thought of her next class. Potions had always provided Aurora with a certain escape from reality and, no doubt, it would do the same today.
She felt her smile widen when she realised that escape from reality would also include the presence of a certain Slytherin with a recently formed dislike of her redheaded friends.
Realising what a fool she must have looked like on her walk to potions, grinning from ear to ear stupidly to herself, Aurora dropped the smile and rounded the corner to Professor Snape's classroom.
The smile that she had just dropped was quickly replaced by panic when she saw the swish of Snape's robes swoosh into the room just before the door closed with a bang.
Shit, am I late?
She checked her watch, and yes. She was late. She was never late. But she was now. Her reminiscing about Nott and everything else that was going on had made her late.
Aurora cursed herself and her overthinking brain. She made her way up to the door, lifted her small fist up to it and made two small knocks before pushing the door open.
The mumbling inside the classroom had stopped and all eyes were drawn to Aurora, including Snape's. A certain pair of brown eyes she had come to recognise noticeably raked up and down her body slowly, causing Aurora to feel almost flushed as she stared right back at the owner, who was sat next to her seat.
"Miss Jenkins?,"Snape drawled.
Aurora snapped back into the situation and whipped her head towards Snape.
"Yes Professor, I'm so sorry I'm late I uh—."
Snape quickly waved her off with his hand.
"Whatever, sit down. And I will be deducting one point from Gryffindor."
One? Thought he'd go worse. She thought.
She looked at Snape quizzically but the sarcastic quirk of his eyebrow that he shot at her only confirmed her suspicions.
He had gone easy on her. Like always.
Aurora sent Snape a tight lipped smile before sauntering down to her seat, his brown eyes burning holes into her small frame the whole time.
After she sat down, Nott didn't turn his head to look at her. He simply stared at the scribbling Snape was currently carrying out on the large blackboard at the top of the class.
Aurora felt almost unsure of herself, should she say hello? Or maybe not? She had spoken to him this morning, maybe he was angry at her for something? Surely not, he was looking at her like a piece of meat not five seconds ago—
"Had me worried Jenkins,"he said in a low whisper.
Aurora smiled, not being able to contain it all of a sudden.
Stupid git, stop smiling!
"Worrying about me now are you?,"she said sarcastically, causing his head of brown curly locks to finally turn.
"You could say that, I was almost hurt sitting here with the thought of you skipping Potions with someone else who wasn't me,"he said sarcastically with a grin, which caused Aurora's cheeks to light up in that familiar, brilliant shade of pink.
She elbowed him slightly while turning to face the blackboard, desperately trying to hide the colour of her cheeks.
Is he......saying he was jealous? No way, surely not.
