The last few weeks before school ended seemed to pass in the blink of an eye. All exams were done and bags were packed and ready to return home for three months.
Aurora had spent the weeks trying to get over the death of Sirius, not to mention helping Harry to try and get over his loss. She spent most of her free time with Theo. If it weren't for him, she didn't know how she would've made it through the many long nights she woke up drowned in sweat and her heart rate practically skyrocketing out of her chest.
She had gotten so used to seeing him all the time, everyday, that she had forgotten a time would come when she wouldn't see him everyday. And now, with the train departing for London tomorrow, that time had come to pass.
She dreaded him going home for the summer. Her mind ran to dark places, where she imagined him returning to her in September with his arm all stained in that horrid black ink. Her stomach churned at the thought. But she told herself to stay calm, don't think the unthinkable.
He would never.
He's not like that them.
He can't be.

"Rory where are you off to?,"Ginny asked from her seat beside the fireplace.
Aurora spoke while pulling on her trainers.
"Off out for a walk before we leave tomorow,"she said.
Fred laughed.
"You and your walks in the moonlight. You're like one of those sappy girls in Hermione's romance novels. Expecting to find the love of your life during you're travels?,"he sniggered, along with George and the rest of the boys.
Aurora rolled her eyes.
"Hilarious. Where's Harry?,"she asked as she noticed the boys absence.
The laughter died down.
"Hagrid's I think, said he was having a cup of tea with him or soemthing,"Ron said quietly.
Aurora huffed.
"I'd bet there's more than just tea in those cups. Anyway, see you all later,"she said quickly before turning and making her way through the portrait.
"Bye Lady, see you later,"she said cheerily.
The lady studied her for a minute.
"Aurora dear?,"she called.
Aurora spun around.
"Yes?"
The lady gave her a saddened look.
"How are you doing?,"she asked.
Aurora felt that familiar hammering begin to rise in her chest. But she simply practiced her largest trick, and the feeling was banished.
Yes, her new trick had become more than handy as of late. It involved a sort of desensitising charm. This particular charm bottled up feelings and basically put them in the bottom shelf of your brain. She had used it once or twice when her and Theo ended before.
It had become her new bestfriend whenever she thought of Sirius or when she was asked questions like this one.
"I'm good Lady, and you?"
The Lady furrowed her brow.
"I'm fine, Aurora dear are you sure you're alri—?"
"Never better,"Aurora said as she made her way down the stairs, leaving before she had to spend another minute confessing her feelings with a painting.
