A year later
It was the first day of junior year.
Elena woke up to the knock at the door she lifted Kols arm getting up and going to open the door, seeing Freya. She wasn't surprised that she was the one who had come to wake her up. "Yes."
"You two need to get up and get ready for school. Evie is up and downstairs." Freya knew it was school time again and they were going to have to get back into the routine.
"Alright we'll be down soon."
"Ok."
Elena closed the door going to jump on Kol he groaned opening his eyes to look at her. " seriously."
"Yes babe get up we have to get to school. First day." And since she liked getting to sleep over at her boyfriends house she needed to be on time to school.
"Ok."

Elena and Kol walked downstairs, seeing Rachel playing with Evie. "Mama." Evie stood running over to her parents. "Mama."
Elena scooped up her daughter tickling her. "Morning babygirl."
"Hi Daddy."
"Hi, Evie."
Freya walked in followed by her mom. As cute as this scene was they had to go to school. "School now. If you are late her mother won't let her spend the night anymore."
"Right lets go." Elena walked over to Freya handing Evie over to her kissing Evie on the forehead. "Bye baby be good. Love you."
"Love you mommy love you daddy."
"Love you Baby."
Kol took her hand, dragging her out of the house. "Hey!" Elena shouted trying not to trip and fall.
"I kind of like waking up to you in my bed. So we have to go." He was not kidding she could not be late.

Elena was going to her locker before going to meet with Kol to go home finding hope and Layla standing against it. "Hey, how are you two doing?"
"Were y'all late this morning i didn't even see yall get up." Layla hadn't seen them at all when they were leaving for school.
Elena nodded covering her face. She didn't want to talk about it especially since she had to be dragged out of the house to make it on time. "We had literally just made it."
"So what are you two about to do." Hope asked. She knew since school was back in session, everyone was going to need to get back on a schedule.
Elena sighed she knew that she still had a lot on her plate for her day especially since she had to deal with her cousins for the day. And she knew how they could be. "Pick up Evie, then we have a dinner with my parents my cousins are in town and want to talk to all of us."
Layla chuckled slightly she knew that wasn't going to be any fun. "Sounds fun."
"We'll see." Elena sighed she could only imagine how that dinner was going to go. "My cousin still isn't the biggest fan of your brother."
"Right." Hope smiled shaking her head she knew that was going to be nothing but a trainwreck.
"Speaking of i have to go meet him." He was her ride home and they had to go and get their child.
"Care if we walk with." Hope asked.
"Sure."
They walk outside seeing Kol leaning against the car texting while a girl stands in front of him. Layla scoffed. "What the fuck is this?"
"We don't know what's going on lay." Hope knew how quick her sister was to just jump into something, and they didn't need that.
"Hopes right." Elena agreed and plus this was her boyfriend and she was secure in her relationship so it didn't bother her. This was the love of her life and the father of her child and they weren't going anywhere.
The three walk over to them.
"What are you doing?"
"Getting updates on my daughter. Do you need something?" Kol was really wishing that he had stayed with Elena so that he couldn't get cornered while he was waiting for her.
"I wanted to catch you when the leash wasn't attached to you." She figured that she had a better chance of getting his attention when he and Elena weren't attached at the hip.
"My girlfriend's name is Elena and if anything i prefer to be on a leash." He preferred to always be with her rather than to be apart. He liked to take all her attention when it wasn't directed towards their daughter.
"I-"
"Leave me alone."
"But-"
Layla cleared her throat make both look towards the three of them. She had heard enough and after making sure her brother wasn't an idiot it was time to get rid of the girl. "Excuse me, tramp, I believe my brother told you to leave."
"Ugh the leash."
"Leash no girlfriend and mother to his child Yes." Elena corrected.
"Desperate for someone who doesn't want you." Hope sighed dramatically this was her brother and this was her sister and she didn't play about neither one of them. "Sad. But again what can you expect when you look like that."
"Some people dont understand what taken means. Unavailable. Something you obviously wouldn't know because no one wants you." Layla looked her up and down smirking she liked causing chaos when it came to her family. "Or at least the smarts ones don't. Some guys don't cheat and my brother is one of them so leave now."
"Who do you think you are?"
"His sister Layla and Hope Mikselson"
"Scram before we make you." Layla liked to fight and she was defintely ok with beating this girl up.
The girl huffed before storming away from the group.
Elena walked over to Kol laying her head on his shoulder looking up at him."Hi."
"You ok."
"Fine." Although she was ready to get the day over with already.
"Freya said Evie took a late nap." Kol warned he knew that was going to cause some problems for them later.
"Great." Elena groaned. As if she didn't already have enough to worry about her daughter not sleeping was worse.
"Well we wish you two well at that dinner" Hope was sure the two of them were going to need it.
"Thanks."
