Choosing The Other Path

You figured this was the reason he was acting so weird all of a sudden.

You wanted to cry and scream but you decided against it. You looked back down at the photos wheaty had sent, inspecting it closely.

You immediately press dial and watch as it starts to ring a couple of times before he answers.

"Wheaty?" You call out with hope.

"Oh thank fucking god Raven" he cries out in relief. "Where the fuck have you been? I've been so worried."

"Long story but what the fuck is going on, what do you mean by people being taken? Why is John doing this?"

"Stop! Don't talk on the phone, they might hear. Look I've put a Walkie talkie under your bed while you were gone, I've already saved my own channel and a couple of more people in your radio book. Eli and Ms Barnes."

"Eli?" He was the guy that Jacob was frustrated about this morning.

"Yea, he's the only one that knows about the shit that the seeds are doing, he wants to go to the sheriff but he says the cops are on the Seeds side that's why he needs evidence so he can call the real authorities, like the FBI or some shit"

This is a very serious thing. Feeling disgust towards yourself for letting a man like that in your bed, letting him touch you, a criminal. 'Don't act like you didn't know what he was doing Raven, you knew what he is capable of, what he's done to your parents, to other people in his bunker? You knew exactly who you were inviting into your bed... The devil.'

You cursed your mind for taunting you like that.

You hurried back up the stairs and kneeled when you reached your bed, looking under it and immediately finding the camo coloured block.

"I've got it." You informed.

"Good, turn the little button on the left, it's placed were the volume button is on your phone, there are two buttons so click the on top until you hear statics go off." You did as he said, waiting for the statics to go off.

"Ok,ok I can hear the buzzing"

"Now on the T9 there's another key with a notebook logo on it, hold that button until the named contacts in you radio book show up on the little glowing screen, me, Eli and Tammy." You pressed the key and watched as three names pop up, wheaty's name on top. Above the T9 was a couple of more keys. A square shaped key with up,down and left, right points on it. To the left side of the square was a key with home written on it and the right was menu.

"If the flash pointer is on my name you can press the little black button on the right to contact me, but if it's not, use the up and down pointers to get to my name."

You pressed the button on the right and the static noises got much louder before going completely silent. You brought the radio to you mouth before speaking into the talkie. "Wheaty?"

"Yes, yes,yes" he started laughing through the radio and you couldn't help but join in. "Ok hang up the phone." You did as said, just remembering that John is waiting for you.

"Fuck" you curse out as you shoot up to your feet.

What's wrong?

"John's waiting for me in my driveway I need to go" the other line was silent for a bit and you thought something must be wrong with your radio.

"Wait Raven, I need you to do me a favour." You could tell he was nervous.

"Anything for you wheaty, I owe you so much" you said as you walked downstairs.
