GUESS WHOS BACK!!
I'm really sorry to all who have waited months. I wrote this in October and didn't publish it. I promise more consistency from now on. My mental health is much better! Please enjoy! I've missed this. But seeing the constant voting of new readers is what makes me keep writing this story. I know you all love it so it will one day be finished!

Day 9: Before sunrise

•Christian's POV•

I don't think many of us are getting much sleep this past night. There is the silence for those who can find peace in their dreams but I am not among those people. Some even snore quietly; I am thankful nobody is a loud snorer. I'd be used to it, dealing with some on Neverland but it's still great not having to deal with that anymore. Mason and Lucas lay next me and I can't figure out if they are sleeping. If I had to guess I'd say Mason is the one who's actually asleep.

I hear a shift and then footsteps in the darkness of the cave from where Nathan and Julia rest. I look up to see Nathan making his way out of the cave.

Sitting up as I debate myself on wether or not I should go talk to him, gives him time to collect his thoughts before I do head out after him.

It's still dark out and the sun hasn't yet risen so all I really see his his shadow on the left side of the cave. The crickets and whatever creatures make sounds during the night are alive and well, making their music which has put me to sleep for so many good nights. We never had the that sound in Neverland, it was always an erie silence.

"Can't sleep?" I ask making sure to keep my voice down.

He sighs as I rest my body on the hardness behind us. "Sometimes I wish you had agreed to take my place."

"I wouldn't be half as good of a king as you."

"I think you would." He nods. "You can't see it but everyone else does, you are a good leader and a brave one at that."

"I could say the same to you. What's got you saying this?"

"I just...have bad thoughts. All the ways a negative result could happen here. They overwhelm me just thinking about what might happen to Julia."

"You know she expressed to me having those same thoughts." I cross my arms. "Maybe if you two were honest with each other on those feelings of fear it would benefit you both."

"I can't possibly tell you everything I'm feeling all at once anyways." He chuckles.

"You don't have to. I think I'd share the same emotions if I was in your situation. Your scared of losing your wife in any way possible. You fear the outcome of this war shouldn't it not go your way. Your angry with your parents. And you are thinking of these things all while leading an army of men and constantly having to reassure them that what your doing is for the greater good of the kingdom and not just some personal things you wanted but couldn't have. And I'm just summing it up because we could talk until the sun reaches the top of the sky about the post of emotions running through your heard."

"There's one thing your missing."

"What's that?"

"I didn't just wish for someone to take my spot because of Julia...I knew that once married I'd be king."
