y/n sat on her dinning table ,
trying to process everything and connect the dots . nothing was making sense to her . she couldn't come to terms with how she had just time traveled into 10 years later . she had always thought things like these would only happen in the frictional world . she had no clue how it happened either . where everyone was , what was happening around the world currently . questions after questions but with no answer . it was then she decided to visit mikey's apartment .
since it had been 10 years , she silently prayed that he still lived there . she was now standing outside the simple plain brown door . part of her was afraid to knock it . what if mikey had already forgotten her ? her hand was already inches away from the door . she took a deep breath before placing a few gentle knocks on it . the door opened revealing a long haired male at the other side . to her disappointment , it wasn't mikey . " y/n ?! " baji sounded surprise to see the female standing outside his door . " uh... where is mikey ? " he had a pale and relief expression . " he moved out . " he invited her in to chat abit more .
" everyone thought you were missing through this 10 years " he explained , pouring a class of water for her . y/n couldn't possibly tell him that she had time traveled into the future . he wouldn't believe it either . " he had changed . " her eyes jolt in surprise . ' what did he mean by changed ? ' " ever since you disappeared , he became ruthless ... fucking around every night " she felt a stab in her heart . she knew it wasn't his fault . she had just disappeared for 10 years without a trace . by the sound of it , the gang is about to collapse . it was barely holding on .
" where is mikey ? " she asked . " i have no idea . i actually haven't seen him in awhile " " what about naoto ? the police officer " she thought since naoto was the one who brought her 10 years later , he could possibly bring her to 10 years before . y/n stood up . " thanks baji , i'll get going . " she planned to look for mikey . although she had no idea where he was , she was still determined to find him . she walked out into the chilly night . ' shit . where can he go ? ' her first instinct was the bar . she remembered that mikey use to tell her that alcohol was his escape . therefore , she decided to try her luck . heading towards the bar .
the place was filled with people either grinding on each other or totally wasted . y/n whispered a bunch of ' excuse me ' , squeezing through the crowd . " all alone miss ? " a man in his 30s approached her but she just ignored and walked away . her main objective was mikey . after a few minutes of searching , she was on the verge of giving up . she sighed turning around . as if it was fate that didn't want her to give up , she saw him . black hair , a tattoo on his neck and centre parting . but she felt sick to her stomach . he was making out with another girl , swallowing each other's lips . y/n's lower lip trembled . it wasn't his fault but she couldn't help but feel a sense of betrayal . she just stood there watching the scene unfold upon her . she didn't know if she even wanted to approach him anymore .
" leave " although y/n were quite some distance away from them , she could hear mikey sternly telling her to leave . one moment they were making out , another mikey was demanding her to leave . ' how fucked up is he exactly ' the poor girl look at the male with fear in her eyes as she quickly left . mikey used his palms to support his head by placing it at his forehead , chucking down another shot . it seemed that mikey hasn't notice her presence yet . y/n took a deep breath to prepare herself and mastered up her courage to go up to the male . she didn't know what to expect . it could either go right or very wrong . what if he hated her for leaving him all alone . what if he no longer remember her . those were just some of the many thoughts in her head .
" manjiro... " she stood centimetre behind him and quietly called out his name despite the booming music . but he heard it . it was unusual as ever since y/n disappeared , mikey stopped telling others his real name . he only wanted to be addressed by his nickname . hence no one called him by his actual name causing him to feel curious hearing his name slip out of someone's mouth . he turned towards it with wide eyes from the owner . he thought he was dreaming or even hallucinating . the shot glass slipped out of his grip landing onto the ground , the glass shattered into pieces as his gaze softened at his long lost lover standing right infront of him . he felt alive hearing her call his name .
the only person he wanted to see in such a long time . the only attention he craved . she was right there . it felt unbelievable . " are you really y/n... " he wanted to make sure she was real and not just his imagination playing tricks on him . y/n lightly nodded with a small smile . her heart brightened seeing emotions flooded through mikey . without wasting anymore time , he brought her into his arms , snuggling into the crook of her neck . he was on the verge of tears .
he missed her so much .
one of his hands went over to grab a hand full of her hair , pulling her even closer if that was possible . " idiot , where have you been ? " she felt partly relieved that mikey wasn't mad at her for disappearing . she couldn't really relate to her pain since she had time traveled but she still felt bad . they were each other's ride or die . she couldn't even imagine living 10 years without him . his presence was always comforting , either 10 years ago or 10 years later . " im sorry , i made you wait . " she chuckled sadly . " you idiot " he laughed back in a bitter tone . he was just glad she was back . although this timeline isn't correct for her . she was debating weather she wanted to return back to 2021 or just live her happily ever after now .
